Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update, Had my RNY yesterday and am still in the hospital. I am doing well, pain is managed and I have been able to get some Fluid in. Might get to go home later.

The only excitement was that the entire hospital lost power for 45 minutes right in the middle of my surgery! I guess they quickly unplugged everything and plugged into a generator. I, of course, didn't know any difference. LOL!

Anyway, glad to be on the other side and I will update later. :)

Sending good wishes to all my June surgery siblings!

I am miserable from survey yesterday. Mostly just nausea and vomiting more than pain. I can't get many fluids down.

Glad to hear you're doing well! Sounds like definitely some excitement during your surgery! lol I'm surprised hospitals don't have automatic failover to generator power...especially for ORs. Glad everything went smoothly! :)

They put torodol in my iv and it seems to be helping more than the the other anti nausea meds. I have had a sugar free popsicle and Water.< br>
Surgeon said my liver looked good. Hopefully I can go home later

This is good news. I'm sure the popsicle and the meds will help.

So now I’m on pre-op liquids. Have found it boring, but I can survive it.

Just got home! Had RNY surgery yesterday. I couldn't be happier. No nausea, practically no pain, and am able to drink Water without difficulty. Apparently, I had a hiatal hernia that needed repairing, too.

The only weird thing so far is that I can't burp intentionally like I used to in order to release air after drinking. I have to wait until my stomach decides the time is right, then it finally just happens. A little uncomfortable but certainly not worrisome.

HAPPY TUESDAY FAMILY!!!!

So tomorrow I start my liquid diet and I'm dreading it lol. Tonight for dinner I had sushi and it was like saying goodbye to my best friend. I can't wait to start my road to surgery and to be on the losers bench.

For our siblings that have already went into surgery, how are yall feeling?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
