i hate cardio.

Recommended Posts

i hate cardio. i've always hated cardio. i will always hate cardio. forever. i would rather lift weights 7 days a week than do 10 minutes of cardio. i would rather clean the bathroom of a gas station at midnight than do cardio. i would rather experience 4 hours of dumping syndrome than do cardio. i would rather go to work than do cardio.

cardio is doom. cardio is sadness.

i do HIIT twice a week with my trainer now and he says i HAVE to do 30 minutes of "challenging" cardio every single day i am not with him at the gym. :( i have a stationary bike, arm pedal, and vertical climber at home. but i hate it. hate ittttt. i want to get to my goal weight by november-ish so i know i have to do it. why can't i get my lazy butt up and just do it? it's only 30 minutes. GOSH.

#rant.

I hate cardio, too. Always have. One way I get myself to do it is to only allow myself to watch certain things (e.g. on iPad, etc.) when doing cardio. That's how I watched the whole Breaking Bad series. Your mileage may vary.

I don't do dedicated cardio any more - but I do fence (as in en garde) for about 3 hours twice a week. Of that at least 1 hour each of the two nights is devoted to conditioning and footwork - which is cardio disguised as fencing.

I feel you. I hate all forms of exercise. I really don't know why. I always feel better once I do the exercise. I just don't want to.

I listen to funny podcasts on the treadmill or bike (Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me; Ask Me Another). So, I laugh through my cardio.

If you can live through this 30 min’s you can do anything! There is magic in the misery. Embrace the suck and reap the reward of November-ish.

I enjoy cardio, walking on the treadmill, recumbent bike, elliptical, walking . . . but I make myself do the strength-training weight machines at the gym too to make sure I'm getting a well-rounded workout toning muscle and burning fat.

I just hate being sweaty; it feels so gross. I get sweaty weight-lifting, but at least after weights I feel like I accomplished something. I don't feel like I am doing anything productive during cardio (I *know* I am). Strength-training is my jam. It's nice to be able to lift stuff I wasn't able to before, lol.

I am not a huge fan of cardio but I do walk 2+ miles as often as possible. Back in my younger years I really enjoyed TaeBo with Billy Blanks (you can get the tapes super cheap on eBay) and working on getting a flat screen in my exercise room so I can do them again. The only workout I ever really loved doing. I have an elliptical but it is so BORING that I rarely use it.

I love Jillian Michaels' DVDs. I use her Lift & Shred and her Beginner 30 Day Shred DVD. She is so motivating and fun and great on instructing proper form.

I’ve been doing YogaGlo streaming for a couple of weeks and REALLY like it. I also hate cardio, so try to make up for it by walking a ton and swimming.

So I’m curious, what is going to happen after November? Are you going to find another form of exercise in order to maintain your weight? Studies show people who don’t exercise during maintenance are at a higher risk for regain.

I would ditch whatever cardio you’re doing now and find an activity that you actually enjoy somewhat in order to keep you active in order to maintain the weight you lose.

I don't intend to ever stop exercising? Even the stuff I hate now. I LOVE weight training and resistance training. And yoga - which counts as cardio as far as my trainer is concerned. I am trying BANG Power Dance next week.

I know I'm late to the convo but how would I do cardio as swimming? I just cant get my heart rate up in the Water.

Also hi, I too hate cardio.

Have you tried jogging in Water? They also have water aerobics classes with resistance floaties (if you're fortunate enough to have a gym with a pool, unlike me).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
