Mushies/Pureed - What are YOU eating in this stage?

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I'm in week 1 of two weeks on "mushies" or pureed foods. I'm just curious as to what everyone else is eating. I'm looking for some variety and just to compare, I'm really curious.

This is what I've been eating:

Morning - 8oz Protein shake

snack - 1/4 c. low fat ricotta

lunch - 1/2 c. bean/veggie Soup with mashed chicken added

Snack - 1/2 c. Tomato or other low fat creamy Soup (squash, mushroom)

dinner - 1/2 c. bean/veggie soup with 1/4 c. meat, Beans, or potatoes

Snack - 1/4 c. sugar free puddings or popsicle

600-700 calories

60-70 grams of protien

I also drink about 3-4 bottles of Water a day

I space out the 1/2 c. portions over 30 min or so

Thanks for the input.

I ate a lot of refried Beans, spread on a plate and topped with FF cheese. Pop it in the micro for a minute or 2 and its not bad. Plus high in Protein.

Healthy Request clam chowder, blended and seasoned wasnt bad either

Here's some other suggestions from my list of Phase II foods:

Yogurt, low fat cottage cheese pureed, egg beaters pureed, oatmeal, cream of wheat, cream of rice, farina, grits, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed winter squash, juices (low sugar), applesauce, pureed peaches pears and pineapple, pureed carrots green Beans and squash and sugar free hot cocoa (in Pa. this time of year we need it!)

My surgeon even permitted tuna salad and egg salad!

There is also a chicken broth flavor whey Protein isolate that is really very good (and unflavored to add to s/f puddings and jello) that is offered at Welcome to the unjury Homepage

I am officially off phase II tomorrow, with my first fill, but I must admit I've been pretty satisfied with this phase! (So-o-o much better than liquids~!) :P

There are some ideas under the food section . But here are some of my favorites.

Refried Beans layered with guacamole, ff sour cream, melted cheese whiz, and picante sauce "juice" It is SO YUMMY . Sort of a 7 layer dip minues a few layers and the chips LOL

Crust less pizza: pizza Sauce, mozzarella cheese, ground beef( if your allowed it) pureed , cooked veggies of your choice , layer all this with each layer covered with sauce. It tastes just like a pizza. Bake in oven until cheese is melted.

Noodless Lasagna : Same premise as above, Tomato sauce mozzarella, ricotta cheese, pureed ground beef or turkey layered and baked in oven until cheese is melted.

There are some good ideas in the food section as well that will help you .

HTH

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
