Can we talk about food aversion

Recommended Posts

Not to be an ass but some of you aren’t sappose to be even eating these Foods this early.Triscuts and Doughnuts maybe in 11 Months or so ???
I agree if you want to stay successful you should be staying away from donuts and empty calorie foods totally. That's why there is only a 5%success rate.

Embrace! Embrace! Embrace! Capitalize on your honeymoon period. Let the weight fall off you by the barrel full!!!!

Eat only for fuel! Do what you need. Keep is simple and find new pursuits and new ways to get excitement and pleasure. This is a blessed once in a lifetime opportunity. You will likely NEVER feel this way again due to your WLS.

I never thought I’d feel this way cuz I looooved ma food.. now I use food as medicine and I only eat what’s good for me because of food aversion and the fact that everything tastes different now.. this girl now loves salads...I’m as baffled as anyone!!!

Ok y'all so I'm 6 months out and nothing remotely sounds appealing. Like even stuff I normally crave and love just ewwww nope. Like the most that even sounds ok right now is apple sauce and really anything soft. Nothing too dense. Help me y'all what is this nonsense

I went through that at 4 months. I hated everything. My nutritionist said its extremely common 4-6 months out and it would pass, it did.

At about 1 month post op, I was totally not interested in eating. I felt like it was a chore and I was perfectly fine not eating at all. This lasted about 2-3 weeks and I think I just ate/drank Protein Shakes and yogurt (and the occasional bite of chicken) during this time. These days I'll still have a day here or there when I'm not in the mood to eat, but I force myself to eat something for nutrition's sake...which I think in turn may be perpetuating my aversion to eat.

For us wls folks, I guess its a good thing, because we don't overeat, but it's also not so great if you aren't getting all your nutrients in. Aim for balance....

P.S. On the flip side of things, however, I do love to cook/prepare meals and plan what to cook/prepare, to the point where the fam thinks it's getting a little obsessive.

Haha I totally force myself to eat but I laugh because my famiy is getting the whole its obsessive thing and its only week 7 haha! My family has a well balanced meal every day. Frankly my husband says man ill just eat cereal...no no way Ill cook 2 veggies and meat but I eat 4bites hehe

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
