I am on day 7 and there are up days and down days. Some days I am very low energy but haven't cheated. My diet is 3 Protein Shakes and a small meal. I won't complain because I am giving myself the best shot I can during my surgery on Monday. It is a sacrifice but I can do anything for 10 days and the final result will be well worth it! We can all do this!

RANT::::

Thinking my pre op yesterday was going to be a breeze I should have been a little more prepared for just something to not go as planned:( I had an endoscopy in 2015 which the nurse a few weeks ago in my bariatric office said should be fine and she would consult with the dr to make sure and that NO news was good news. Well when the office called telling me my cardiologist had not sent the clearance letter they also asked about my endoscopy.. which of course I said I was told it was ok to use the 2015 per the nurse. So after I left yesterday I had to call the gastro office to have them send consent to the other office -- Not that easy because they called this morning playing phone tag telling me that the gastro dr said NO NO NO I had to do another test or she would not send any consent for clearance OMG!!! Really!! So I was able to get an appt for 4/3 and within 15 minutes that appt was taken away because my procedure has to be done in a hospital not at the alt. location because they would not accept me with health issues:( So before the office closed I FINALLY was told it would be tomorrow morning. More time off just what I was trying to avoid. Hope everyone else has better luck, I just thought I was so much better prepared, and they pull this extra stress on me when I can't eat... Mean just Mean ha ha!

RANT OVER:)

Amazing, isn't it? We are almost there! Just a few weeks left of this part of our journey. I wish you the very best in your surgery.

I ran into a six week delay just trying to get my records sent to my surgeon. I feel your pain. There were many times I wanted to give up. It shouldn't be so hard to get healthier. Take a deep breath and regroup. This, too, shall pass.

Thank you all, I will get this out of the way first thing in the morning and pray that the test is enough to get that clearance that I desperately need. Hopefully she will tell me when I wake up.

My date is 4/25. I start my pre-op diet a week prior. I’ll be going in next week for testing. I’m excited, and I know that this is the right choice, but I am nervous as well.

I am confused because I got a surgery date for 4/30 but I still have a couple of test to do. And my last nutritionist is next Tuesday. I just dont get it. And when I asked her dont u have to submit to insurance to get approved? She said you will be approved dont worry about it. So i am not even too excited that is so soon I'm afraid to get excited. 😦😦😦

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
