Okay, yeah, I am def not straying from the proven path. I just didn't know if this shock your system concept was a thing or not since I had never heard of it being necessary.

Well, there is this practice called "Carb cycling". I know nothing about it in depth, but it seems kind of similar to what you're talking about.

I'm sorry but I stand by my statement that it is terrible for someone to go through all of this just to eat garbage again ("if that's what made them big to begin with"). Be it once or every day. And I feel no shame in being judgmental about that. We can agree to disagree. And, yes, to each their own. People can ruin their surgery if they want to. Or take unnecessary risks. If it doesn't affect them, awesome. But if it may, why the heck would you risk that. Baffles the mind.

As defined by Merriam Webster:

Tolerance

noun

tol·er·ance | \ ˈtä-lə-rən(t)s, ˈtäl-rən(t)s\

2a: sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own

It goes a long way in life ...

Lawd have mercy, we have another one. *shrug* I am totally tolerant of other people's poor choices. It doesn't affect me at all. :)

My NUT said something similar to the fact that an occasional cheat can help reset and boost your metabolism. I don’t know one way or the other. I stick to my plan and have plenty alternatives to the bad foods that I just love. I wish I could find them locally, but will order online forever need be.

I don't have the GAF to copy the whole definition, but we also have...

Some people just like to argue for the sake of arguing. Just answer my question and move on, I mean JEEZUUS. It's a forum not a dog and pony show. Anyways, I got my question answered. Peace out. lmao.

I love the BP store so far. And FB is stalking me with "keto" alternatives that work. Ah, FB stalky ads. In my mind.

Yep, the BP store has great prices, some lower than Amazon AND don't forget that your forum participation gains you points to use on your orders for a discount. https://store.bariatricpal.com/pages/rewards

Between BP and Bariactricfoodsdirect I’m covered. We all have things we love!! I just find alternatives to them. I love BBQ sauce. So I found some with no fat, and only 2 carbs that is boss!! I won’t ever knock no one, I just do me.

I'm trying to give these people all my labs and it's so hard! I had to do number 2 in a bag and send it in for the lab to test it. CHILE! Why did I poop in the container and when I went to drop it off, that part of the hospital was closed?!  Sigh. AWKWARD. I'll drop it off today after work tho. Feeling great!

Getting a little nervous about post surgery life adaptation. I really want to succeed, but habits are so hard to break.

      Good news and Meh news...
Meh: so I think I experienced/am experiencing my first stall-ish since surgery and now I get how frustrating it can be!  So annoying to wake up every morning to watch the scale report a gain or loss of the same 1.5 pounds for over 2 weeks.  *sigh*.  Some say put the scale away, but I log my weight every morning to get a daily moving average of my weight.  So long as this moving average is not heading upwards (which it isn’t and hasn’t since post-op) then I am good with my curent “minimalist” weekly weight loss rate, however small I think it is 🙄.
      However.
      The Good news:
To allow for some self back patting, and to remind myself of the bigger picture, I set a bunch of interim goals/milestones... a few of which are 10lbs increment weight loss goals:
So this morning, after hovering within 1.5 pounds of an interim goal for over 2 weeks, I weighed in at 164.8, and officially lost 70 lbs!  In 4 months.  That is 30% of my starting body weight.  Or the equivalent of my 10 year old neice. How crazy is that.
Next Goal: weigh in at 162lbs to be merely overweight (and not obese!)

I am in the Pre-Op stage.  I have 4 more nutrition classes to go to.  I've had my endoscopy with favorable results although I was told I had an abnormal z-line.  Everything looks good so far.  Had my team appointment with the psychologist and have my pulmonologist  this week.  I chose the sleeve
