Newly Banded--Similar Pain Anyone?

I was just banded yesterday afternoon and left the hospital by 10:30pm. I've been able to consistently walk :phanvan:phanvanand take in Water but I'm worried about using too much of my pain meds, even though they really work!

I'm on liquid Vicadin and I see a lot of people here on Liquid Tylenol so I think I'm being a sissy about my incisions hurting/soreness. Without the full dose of meds, it hurts to breathe deeply and be in most sitting positions.

Anyone else experienced this? My Dr. also told me that I did have a lot of abdominal fat, which meant that my port had to be placed deeply in the tissue and he'd have to use a long needle to fill me--eep!

In pain and nervous!

:bounce:Hi everyone. I was banded 11/8, and I felt the pain in my shoulder too. I can't imagine how bad it must have been, because I could still feel it plainly, even with Vicadin. Fortunately, it has subsided for the most part. I went to liquid Tylenol and plenty of Gas-x strips on 11/10, and I've been doing fine. The port definitely hurts, though, and I feel I need to apply pressure to it when I get out of bed, sit down, stand up, etc. I'm looking forward to the future, though, and I'm ok for now.

I was banded on Thursday 11/8 and feel great. I am on Percocet (1 pill every 5 hours) and that's been wonderful. I hope to ween off of it over the next three days and switch to Extra Strength Tylenol Liquid.

I don't have any shoulder pain and mild gas pains, I guess. I have some pain at the port incision and I really *feel* it when I laugh! Basically feels like I did tons of sit-ups.

Walking feels great and keeps my energy and focus up. Sitting on the couch for even a hour at a time is uncomfortable, so I keep moving around.

I have a compression garment on my mid-section, and I think that has really been a help. Whenever I take it off I can feel pain creeping on. Does anyone else have one? Feel the same?

The gas pains are what made me feel the worst. As some of the previous posters have recommended...... the gasX strips are wonderful and will make you feel like a new person!

Day number 13 for me and the gas pain is finally gone completely! Yay! What a horrible 10+ days. Can't wait to see the full effect of this thing. Wish I could fast forward to a year from now.
