It’s been one week. Had my first BM and I still feel bloated. I feel like I should’ve lost something being I’m on a clear diet. I feel weak so I sneaked in two spoons of plain yogurt to my Jello. Went down fine so I’m doing again. I need protein!

Get your Water in! That’s helps move things- think of it as flushing the fat out. It took me about 7 -10 days to get rid of surgery Fluid and get “regular”..... feel better

Why are you not consuming any Protein? Is this something they told you to avoid? If you are on clears, you can get yourself some of the protein Water style proteins... clear doesn't mean perfectly clear (in case you didn't know) it means see through, even if it's colored. There are a number of clear protein options.

defiance with WLS is a very bad thing, compliance is what makes the surgery work.

How long do you have to do Clear Liquids? My surgery was the day before yours but I only had to do clears for 3 days. I am now on "full liquids" for 2 weeks and it includes greek yogurt...my lifesaver! I just put some unflavored Protein Powder in it and I'm good to go. Premier Protein Clear is good if you have to stay on clears much longer.Good luck!

Are you not eating / drinking broth? Drinking Bone Broth will give you your Proteins and nearly as much if not more than a spoonful of yogurt. You should also check with your surgical team before changing up your diet. Just because it's feels fine, doesn't mean it is fine.

Water helps the bowels move, Make sure you're meeting your water goals. That should be your number 1 focus followed by proteins.

I thought I was consuming Protein. I'm having exactly what they gave me at the hospital the day after surgery. Bone Broth, tea, Water, and Jello. Oh and a Flintstone complete Vitamin. I see my Dr. tomorrow, I will ask him then.

the **ONLY** thing that *MIGHT* have protein is that Bone Broth... but I can tell you from a quick search, that it's not going to be anywhere NEAR what you should be getting a day... if you are buying it, check the nutritional panel, it'll have the protein count listed. What I'm seeing online for non-protein enhanced broths is as low as 5-6 grams per serving, when you should be aiming for around 60-80 for your daily total, so, if you were consuming this 5 gram per serving broth, you'd need to drink 12 servings to hit 60 grams in a day. And at that point, you'd be super high in sodium intake. What they give you the day after surgery, is for recovery purposes and no where near what you should be continuing to consume.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
