I have a BMI of 37.8.Im in the process of going thru the steps for gastric sleeve surgery. I also had my thyroid completely removed due to hyperthyroidism and am on Thyroid replacement medicine for the rest of my life.Would that help with the decision of approval from the insurance company for surgery?

I'm sure it will. With a BMI under 40, you will most likely need a few more comorbidities to qualify. Here's a few you might have: Sleep apnea is usually one they diagnose everyone with. It was the "craze" a few years back (LOL). High blood pressure (something this whole process will cause). Family history of obesity related problems like heart disease, etc... Have your Dr. run some really detailed blood work. Good luck with the approval!
