For what it’s worth, I bought the Celebrate Vitamins (chewable w/ Iron, tropical flavor) and I find them disgusting. Sometimes they make me gag but they were expensive, so I’m forcing them down. Flintstones taste way better but not as comprehensive of a Multivitamin. Not sure what I’ll do when the Celebrate are gone....

I did try the Celebrate ones when I got them. They’re not great but if I have to do it I guess I have to. My dr didn’t want me taking flintstones, I think because, like you said they’re not what I need.

Vitamins: I have the BariatricAdvantage Multi-chewy Vitamins (in cherry, but my doctor's office let me try the orange, too). They taste just fine, but two of them at a time is too much and makes me feel sick. This wasn't a problem pre-op (when I tried them at the doctor's office), but new tum is definitely not into them.

Puree/soft phase foods: If you haven't had a chance to try Bariatric Eating's egg custard, do yourself a favor and make some. (If you're on lifting restriction, maybe get a kitchen buddy to help you get it into and out of the oven. The Water bath makes it heavy. I waited until my spouse was home to make it, and that felt like a good call.) I followed their recipe with only one variation: I did half Splenda and half xylitol, because I find that mix doesn't taste like fake sugar to me. It makes a really thick, satisfying, delicious custard.

My surgery was on October 18th. I am 3 days post op and feeling excited about the future. Still have gas pains but those are getting better. Just dealing with the caffeine withdrawal headaches 😀

Officially halfway through my pre-op liquid diet and discovering that I can be quite hard to live with sometimes. 😞 7 days and I am losing my mind. My surgery isn't until the 29th and I am feeling like a neglectful wife/mother for missing so many events this week (my hubby's b-day dinner, my sons team dinner for football, sweetest day dinner with the family and my sons playoff selection team/community cookout). I go, so physically I am in the room, but as I sit clutching my Protein Shake watching everyone else chew their meals, I'm not enjoying myself, I'm just feeling jealous and bitter. (Partially because I had to help prepare this food that I can no longer enjoy in some of these cases.) my husband and I went to see the new Halloween movie this weekend and I cried through it...not because I was scared but because the smell of the popcorn was driving me crazy! I want to stick with this and lose the weight so that I am healthier and more active but I don't want to be this miserable all the time. Does it get easier after surgery, like once you finally transition to normal foods?

Also. when it comes to goal weights, do you have to listen to your PCP in order for the surgery to be considered successful? My husband and I have always had a goal weight of 130-140 in mind for me but, because I am only 5'1" my PCP claims I need to be 115, which I don't feel is realistic considering I haven't weighed that since the 4th grade. If I manage to pull out of this funk and get myself together, I want to know what number I am looking for and what my actual goal is.

Hi everyone. I had my Gastric Sleeve on 17 Oct. I've been home for 2 days now. The healing process is slow, but is getting better each day.

Congrats to everyone on their journey.

Hi kellyp. I had my surgery on the 16th and I feel the same as you, every day gets better. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t need a nap lol! Today I’m going to try to go for a nice, long walk. I’m getting sick of the Protein shakes! I never thought I’d be excited to eat puréed food! 😃 Good luck to you!

Ty. I am the same way. I've been sleeping in the day because I am so tired and doubt even realized I've dozed off. I'm finding it hard to get the shakes in. Im just not hungry. Im barely getting a bottle of Water in a day.

Oh gosh yes. It feels like I'm dying. I hate that the most. Oh yeah and the coughing spells I get.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
