I was doing sooo well yesterday. No hunger, pushed my first "meal" to 3pm, still no hunger, good on Protein, fluids, supplements, low cals. And then I started looking up restaurants in Rome for my upcoming vacation, and all that "no hunger" bs was out the window, and Postmates was showing up at my door

It's interesting because I felt like such a failure last night when I caved. But I was still in a 5 hr window, my cals, were still low for most people, I only ate till full then threw out the rest. So basically it didn't wreck my day, but the guilt! If this had been a planned meal out, where I just made an unwise choice, I'd barely feel bad at all.

Today is a new day. Thankfully the late-ish carbs didn't wake up my hunger monster. We'll see how today goes, but IF is the plan (carbonara is not).

((hugs)) Our mental stuff is HUGE isn't it? What we do to ourselves!! You did great honestly!! You did everything our docs and RDs want us to do. LOL. You know? And your Protein looks great and cals just totes norm!!!

LOL, so maybe you should do more food research in Italy...just spit ballin' here... :D

Breaking the fast meal: I decided to have "almost sushi" today, and nutter puffs (so good)

Pouched salmon, avocado, hempseed, Nori sheets, Bragg's aminos, spices, brown mustard

Makes 6, I ate 3 (but the 2 ends first which were empty-ish -handrolled imperfections)

Thanks ... I know it isn't bad in the big picture ... but 8:30 pm carb delivery is never a good idea

Menu reading always gets to me! Sometimes I have to do it for planning work dinners. But I always do it for vacations. My first trip to Rome I think I ate in every terrible tourist trap that existed. I vowed to always do my research after that, lol!

Beats my Protein shaker. Bag of protein Snacks, or Protein Bar LOL

This fasting thing is nuts... like, I don't get hungry like I did even last week. I'd NEVER think I could go my entire work shift on 1 cup of coffee, 1 burger with cheese and a packet of ketchup and 1 hot dog with 1 package of ketchup, both with no bun. And 20 oz of sugar free energy drink mix.

That's seriously all I've had today and I feel fine.

This is literally the easiest to do, 5 minutes if you can believe it I only have to prep the avocado by cutting it! Hahaha, y'all know I'm food lazy ( but id happily make Ayurvedic golden milk by the book, or 100 stage ceremonial matcha... I clearly have issues)

It does curb hunger, when I was on the 20:4 protocol I preferred to just not eat...

Ok just finished my first meal. All I've had today is black coffee and 3 bottles of Water and Vitamins. Yummah!

I just heart my quick, down and dirty green Soup. I did this Mexican style, which means I added some fresh salsa and made the spices Mexican--and I added a pinch of turmeric for @GreenTealael! ;) Man it's just so satisfying and for 118 cals!

Yay! But I have questions about thin Soups w/ vegetables or meat: I feel like I'm eating and drinking at the same time so I mostly ignore the liquid.. What does everyone think/do?

Ok so my RD told me to do it this way: eat the liquid first using the cup as a strainer. Get as much broth out as possible, then "pause a while"--like 10-15 minutes before beginning the solid portion.

i don't have any restriction on clear broths when I eat them slowly. It goes strait through. So it isn't creating a slurry.

hope that helps!! What do u guys do or what were you told to do?

I have Soup a lot, cause I'm lazy, and it's satisfying.

Most liquid + chunks soup makes me feel satisfied, and full, but doesn't feel the same as my restriction when I eat something solid. Pure liquid Soups, like Tomato just make me feel satisfied, but not full. Sometimes even liquid + chunks seem to hit my restriction, like the Medifast chicken noodle, happens almost every time I eat it.

I'm not super vigilant with the not eating and drinking, so I don't worry about it too much.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
