benadryl works wonders for me when I can't sleep - also praying while laying down in the bed helps too..,. relaxes me and I always fall asleep before I am finished.

You could also try yoga, walking, etc. an hour b4 bed to help get you sleepy... walking is best when done outside though because of getting the fresh air it will help.

But when all else fails - 2 benadryl (or off brand) work great ...

Hope that helps...

I was banded 2 weeks ago and am doing prett good I think. But I was just scrlling through here looking to see if anybody had trouble sleeping. My thing is I used to eat right before I went ot sleep and the feeling of being full used to be like a sedative to me. Did anybody used to do that. My favorite bedtime sleep aide was a bowl of Cereal. I haven't had a good bowl of Captaiin Crunch since starting me pre=opdiet 4 weeks ago. I have found that turnig the t.v. off and reading a book helps, but I sure miss that nice full feeling where it makes you want ot lay down a just sleepit off. Any body remember that?:notagree

Yup, I can't stand to go to bed hungry either. Try half a cup of cottage cheese and a melatonin. That's why I do. Not as good as Captain Crunch though I agree! Farewell oh my Captain!

I can't sleep at all. I was used to relying on the carb comas to knock me out and now I can't sleep. Can't nap. Can't function. I'm thinking about asking the doctor for some Ambien.

My whole sleeping pattern has been thrown off. I just absolutely can not go to sleep on an empty sstomach. Even after a hard day at the gym where my whole body is sore I jsut can't. I have even tried having a glass of wine. May be it is my metabolism picking up alittle bit. Because I am not really tired during the day once I struggle to get out of bed and start on the coffee, but yeah I am up all night too.

I wonder if it really is to do with banding?

I have had a lot of changes in my whole life since Banding, and I am going through periods of sleeplessness. I will be okay for a couple of days (nights) and then it will be several of being totally spun out with exhaustion and just can't rest/sleep.

I don't do tons of exercise, and when I do it doesn't seem to affect this much, but maybe it is the subconscious thoughts/feelings that our life will be and is changing?

I too have been having trouble sleeping...or wake up each hour during the night until an hour before I have to get up, THEN I fall into a DEEP sleep.

I also used to take naps (loved them esp. on a rainy Sunday afternoon), but now when I have a toe-up, nothing happens. So I end up getting up and doing something else instead.

I think the band is helping me leave my lazy, slothfulness behind (hopefully??)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
