BC: conflicting dr. opinions

Recommended Posts

okay so update:
i called my surgeons office and spoke with the head nurse (who talked to my surgeon) and they said they “don’t override PCP but they’re fine with my taking it”. so they kind of left it up to me and i’m going to continue taking it. i’m active enough right now that i’m not worried about blood clots, and my surgeon says it’s okay so that’s really my number one. i think it’s just because different programs have different standards.

as far as methods go, i think i’m going to stick with the pill. i’ve never had a problem remembering to take it, and i’ve been on it since i was 14 (for PCOS that young) and i’m 22 now. there’s so many scary stories out there about IUDs, so it’s hard to consider. I think if i were to do anything else it would be the nuvaring, but as far as my PCP is concerned, the ring and the pill put me at equal risk for clots. so long story short, i’m going to stick with the pill.

They told me it would be more uncomfortable because my cervix has never been dilated. That was definitely an understatement.

My Dr. had me take Misoprostol the night before in order to dilate my cervix, for a less painful insertion.

I chose the Mirena IUD because it is highly effective, more effective than tubal ligation

My surgeon said to wait one month before restarting the pill. I’ve posted on here before about it. My only negative comment is post surgery I have a lot of breakthrough bleeding even though I was sleeved and absorption shouldn’t be an issue. A substitute GYN I had at a recent check up told me there was one more pill option to try. But 9 months post op and no baby so 😂😂😂 I’ll take it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
