Don't freak out. Just breathe. Are you feeling weak, dizzy or any other symptoms? It's possible it's perfectly normal. Don't forget they removed 85% of your stomach, I'm sure that has some weight to it. And maybe your body is just healing more quickly. - I'm sure you will be fine.

I felt lousy bloated and uncomfortable when I woke up. After I used the bathroom I felt sooo much better. I have a headache and I’m a bit sore but otherwise I feel physically good. Mentally I’m a nervous wreck.

Drink Water. The headache is likely dehydration. The bloated is definitely post surgery and the relief... well pure relief. Try and get some nourishment and before you know it your Dr's office will call back.

@Tim84 I’m so sorry. I felt miserable before I went. How are you feeling otherwise?

I’m feeling quite good actually, very surprised. I’ve been out of the house most of yesterday and today. Everyone at home is kinda looking at me funny, like I should be more sick or something.

Follow up with your surgeon just to be sure, but I'd suggest Milk of Magnesia. It's not uncommon to still not have gone at this point, but much longer you will definitely want to seek medical attention.

My first BM was magnificent! I had been trying for three days but it was so hard. Once I sat down for three hours and finally the hard piece came through and everything came flowing right out afterwards. They did discharge me with Miralax and sennakot. I bought a stool softener on my own. Since we are already on an uncomfortable subject, did anyone else notice that their gas smells bad?

I've been fortunate, for the first time ever I've had no-smell gas. So truly just air coming out.

It was heaven. LOL I have been putting Miralax in all my Clear Liquids. My gas isn't terrible but it's frequent. My family is shunning me.

@MargoCL I heard from the nurse and she told me not to worry unless I'm having physical symptoms. I have an apt with them in 2 days to be sure. So for now I'm just not going to worry people I am a over-worrier and I don't want to make myself crazy.

I was very hungry. From my post op diet I chose the thickest things I could-a tablespoon of Peanut Butter, 2 tbls of hummus, very thick Greek yogurt. Anything like Soup or applesauce left me hungry. I pretty much ate hummus 3 tines a day. oatmeal that was thick was ok too (weight control oatmeal)

What do you consider "weight-control oatmeal"?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
