Do you have a Treat, what is it, and how often.
Don’t take what everyone is saying to heart. Everyone is different and everyone dosnt have the restraint to eat one piece of anything. I know before hand I would eat an entire bag of chips. Now I buy healthier options and only eat the recommended amount. I know I want to lose weight and to think I won’t have a chip ever again is ridiculous. My nutritionist said moderation and every now and again. I don’t feel deprived and I’m still loosing weight. Keep your head up and good luck. I know if I find another product that I’m iffy about I just message my nutritionist and ask her opinion.

On the Subject of New Clothes....
I had some points to use at express. I use to just buy accessories and never even think about trying on the clothes. This week I went in and tried on a xl and it was too big. I tried the large and it was perfect. It gave me so much confidence to finally be able to shop in there because I love their clothes. Since then I’ve lost another 7 pounds. Thank god the shirt was only cost me $2!

Do you have a Treat, what is it, and how often.
I’ve known several people who have had this surgery. Some people are diet commanders and some who slack every now and again. The diet commanders that I know have gained massive weight back. This procedure is not to scare you away from food. Its to help you make better choices. I have a close family member who has maintained for years who has a snack every day but stays strict on everything else. I don’t think one Reese’s will harm you if you’re doing everything correctly. Some bad foods your body just won’t ever agree with again. I can’t tolerate hamburger meat. It’s the only thing that makes me vomit. I use to listen to people on here about carbs and limiting them when my nutritionist told me to not worry about carbs. Guess what? I stalled! I started consuming carbs and the weight began to drop so fast. So now I try to have a few crackers with my tuna or a low carb wrap. Just make better choices! Try searching for a healthier version of Reese’s.

Question for those VGSers who had little or no hair loss
I never met my liquid goal one month out. I did however meet my protein goal and took all of my supplements. I actually noticed that my hair (everywhere) grew faster.

Favorite restaurant meals post WLS?
I usually indulge in a soup while people are eating appetizers and bread and give myself time to digest some. It’s hard when food keeps coming. Then when my food comes I only take a bite if someone is looking because I’ve been pushing my food around. I notice I make more eye contact and talk more since I’m not stuffing my face. I usually have enough to take home for about 3–5 more meals. I order a lean meat and veggie.

Hard time staying on plan
I use to be a fast food eater and dreaded cooking so I had to adapt. There are a ton of recipes for healthy alternatives to what you’re craving if you must. Try that instead of depriving yourself. This way it will be incorporated into your long term life change. Every time I weigh in each week it motivates me to stay on track. Try finding something positive that will help you stay strong! Good luck

I don't understand!!!
I was having the same issue. I was almost three weeks out and lost 10 but gained 2 back. It puzzled me because I wasn’t hardly eating. Well, after I talked to my nutritionist we agreed that I needed to eat and drink more. Literally two days later I dropped 8 pounds. Maybe you should speak with your nutritionist.

Lessons learned
From watching YouTube videos I thought I wouldn’t be in so much pain afterwards. I was wrong and I wish SOMEONE would have told me. I was so upset and wish I was more mentally prepared for that part. I thought I was having complications because of the pain but my surgeon came up and told me it was perfectly normal. Also, I “sharted” on myself day one of being home. Again, something no one warned me about. So be careful when you pass gas post op. It will save you some embarrassment. GOOD LUCK!!! It starts out tough but then it’s gets easy!

August surgery ppl
I met with my nutritionist as well and she wasn’t as upset as I was about the 8 pounds. She said that’s 10% of my goal weight which is 184. It just gets annoying when I see others losing so much! It makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong and makes me want to revert back to liquid only. This definitely messes with your mind. I wish they required more mental health appointments.

August surgery ppl
Just had my two week and lost 8 pounds. I’m a little irritated but it’s probably because I’m not drinking enough water, I hope!

When to start working out again
Surgery date- 8/22/18 I went to the gym yesterday and did the treadmill for 30 minutes. It was soooo boring but I knew it was all I could do for the time being. I had to slow down my speed because I could feel my left side tightening up. When did everyone start going to the gym after their surgery? When were you able to do weight bearing exercises? Are most of you going to the gym or losing the weight from the diet alone?
