Pre-Op Anxiety

Hey guys. As of today, I got the call and my surgery has been approved from the insurance. My pre-op visit is now scheduled for this Friday and surgery on the 16th.

Y’all. I am terrified. I’m scared that my body won’t handle the surgery well. Scared that I can’t ever reverse it and eat normally again. Scared that I will die in surgery. So many things. I know I am just having the normal pre op jitters but I am so scared.

I just want to know that other people also felt this way before your surgery. The countdown is on now.

Totally normal.

I was just like @Frustr8 - totally calm, ready and smooth sailing. I think my family was more nervous than I was. I totally trusted my doctor and had been a patient at the hospital before so I was ready to just get it over with.

This is an exciting time, yes, there are no reversals when it comes to the sleeve, but do you really want to be able to consume all that you did prior to making this choice? I know for sure I don't ever want to eat that way again. When I fell off my healthy wagon, I ate junk and loads of it. I don't ever want to go back to having the ability to gorge on unhealthy foods. I only hope my new belly agrees and keeps rejecting unhealthy stuff.

Well HAPPY. ? BIRTHDAY-what,a great celebration this will be!

My surgery is in November and I am having these thoughts too. I just keep reminding myself that I am doing this so that I can be a healthier me and be around longer with my daughter and husband.

My surgery is tomorrow and I am nervous and anxious too . To be honest I must have eaten 3000 kcalories yesterday as I was having terrible panic attacks, which I usually don't have . I think that it is normal before any surgery , but I am thinking that in about 30 hours it will be over and I will be happy that it is complete and that I am going to start a new chapter in my life ... good luck to you ......

Surgery went well and Home and actually feel great . No pain , no nausea and just a bit sore and tired . Stayed on clear liquids and am getting in about 40 oz per day .. MD says that post hospital I can have full liquids, however am waiting for my body to tell me that I want them . Was not a piece of cake but the waiting is worse.Love my MD. any one in NYC area looking for one let me know ,he is the best

And what HAPPY NEWS my friend @rosie6. So thrilled your new life. is starting, WELCOME to the Post Surgery side of Lufe!
