I’m wondering is it normal to be gassy after eating. I’m on purée now and almost everything I try gives me gas. I don’t know how to make myself burp either so it’s just stuck there until I finally burp naturally.

Has anyone else experienced this sensation. Is it normal?

Thanks you!

It’s normal. You may be sucking in too much air when eating. Also, They put a lot of air in you during surgery. You should be burping and passing gas. Then, You’ll become more comfortable as gas travels out. Try coughing 10 times every hour too. It helps so much!

It’s weird I never passed gas or burped much after surgery. I hardly had any gas pains! I felt like I didn’t even have surgery lol.

Yeah I think I’ve been eating too fast

I’m trying to slow down

watch what you're eating too. I've noticed if I mix my shake too much and create bubbles, I get the sharp gassy pains following. I've had that with a few other items.

Walking and rubbing my lower back helps with moving gas or burping. I read on one of these forums that someone used a pillow at her belly and started patting herself on the back to burp. I've used my boyfriend to rub my back and that helps too.

3 weeks now and have EXACT same thing. Tum is waking up and this is expected. It’ll get better with time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
