Hello! I’m new to the site, and I’m just want to hear about everyone’s experiences during each step of the process. I’ getting the gastric sleeve. I haven’t gotten my date yet, but I’ve seen the dietitian and the social worker. I’ve made my appointment with the psychologist to mentally prepare me for what’s to come. I’m thinking my operation will be close to Thanksgiving. I hope to hear some encouraging words from the group.

Your screen name has me curious. Are you a Disneyland guru by chance or a Power Rangers fan?

Yes, this is one of the September 2018 groups. I created this one specifically for sleeve gastrectomy patients, but everyone is welcome! There are a couple of others.

Welcome and good luck with your journey. Only eight days for pre-op? You are very lucky! I've been struggling with my pre-op diet now for almost a month, and I have two weeks left! We'll get through this and be better off after, to be sure!

Which surgery are you having?

I’m having the sleeve. My preop is Clear Liquids only and I can add clear Liquid Protein on day 5. I’ve been seeing dietician though since February 27 and been eating basically Keto/low-carb and have lost 52lbs so far.

My surgery got moved to Sept. 13th because I found out I had an infected wisdom tooth. But I'm still on the pre-op diet. Mine allows Protein Shakes and 4 oz of lean meat and vegetables for dinner. My calorie cap is 1200. I was REALLY worried about being hungry all the time, but it really hasn't been bad. I started early so I could get a jump start on weight loss, but also so I could take Advil if I got horrible headaches, which I did the first couple days, but haven't had to take any since.

Right now because of my oral surgery, I'm on all liquids anyway. I found 2 brands of Protein Powder I really like. Vega Protein and greens and Integrated supplements whey isolate protein. My stomach doesn't tolerate Splenda/sucralose and Vega and Integrated use stevia and fructose and fruit extract, but still staying under the 200 calorie cap per shake, over 15 grams protein, under 10 net carbs.

You are on the other side of the world 🌍from me but I am sure my warm wishes will still reach that far. May things go well for you as they will for me. I will have a gastric bypass on September 5th.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
