I think it’s important to stick to the plan that was provided by your team. You’re still healing and you don’t want to risk anything and have complications.

It can be frustrating to see other people eat ahead of you on a different plan than yours even if you had similar surgeries and surgery dates. Hang in there, you can do it

Ask your team, they may give you the green light otherwise stick to plan...

The right answer is to follow your team's instructions to the letter.

The naughty answer is....no one's going to call the police if you try something from the next stage on your instructions. If you do (don't!)...try just a little and wait a couple of hours. See if you're up to it.

Do NOT skip ahead too much. The next stage over is as far as i'd risk it. And again....it's stupid (I've been known to be stupid)......it's smarter to wait.

Don't do it. Figure out what you're looking to achieve out of eating soft food - the ability to chew something? A certain feeling in your stomach that you associate with soft food? A particular eggy taste? Then figure out how to achieve that without breaking your team's rules.

If you want to chew something, get a popsicle or freeze some Jello. If it's a stomach feeling, blend some lentils or get a small spoonful of ricotta cheese. Or make some custard to get the egg taste. But with egg in particular, at first you'll be VERY surprised how little it will take to make you feel not just full, but overfull. If you eat within your team's plan and experience an issue, you're much more likely to ask them than if you go outside the plan, experience something and then drag your feet calling in because you don't want to admit that you jumped the soft food gun.

It's only a couple of days. Get creative with the options you have and grit it out.

Wait the 3 days- just my opinion. Your stomach will thank you. When you get to that stage it’s difficult as is so don’t rush it

I totally get where you are. I’m 3 days from seeing the doctor and getting the green light to move up in foods. I’m tired of shakes, pudding, yogurts, etc between pre-op and post-op we’re talking 4 weeks of nothing... BUT... my way of doing things got me to where I am!! So every time I get the urge to eat something off my list I remind myself what I want and walk away. I’m not hungry, I don’t need it, and it’s not worth it. If I cheat now, I’m just giving myself permission to cheat later. If you’re truly hungry, call your team tomorrow and get permission to move on. Just my thoughts.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
