Here is my list of things that I wanted to eat today and have been craving since yesterday and have not eaten. I am on liquids for 2 weeks because I had a fill and want to make the best of the 3 days of liquids they put you on. It felt better to write them down. I sit right by the break room at work and can smell everything that is cooked. It made me feel a little better to write it down. Anyone else have some cravings??

Kim - You said 2 weeks of liquids after a fill? Wow, that is a long time. My doctor only requires liquids the day of the fill. Are you sure he didn't say 2 days? I guess I just haven't heard of two weeks. Great job of staying away from all that stuff!

Yeah, the doc recommends 3 days but I thought I would kick start my weightloss like the beginning again. I find my cravings go away after a week or so. I know it's not as healthy as can be. But, I am drinking my Protein Shakes and getting plenty of liquids in. I just have to get past these cravings they are killing me!!

My mouth started watering till I got to the deep-fried pickles. Someone once accidentally served our table deep-fried pickles and we all gagged (we ordered deep fried zuccini.) Bad experience, bad, bad... we thought we were eating rotten zuccini. Must be a southern thing?

When I was on liquids I got the weirdest cravings for pizza and spagetti. Then I discovered that cambells Soup at hand has a pizza flavored soup...It really helped me work through some of the cravings.

Now I find myself watching the food Network and reading cookbooks like they are romance novels. I'm in love with food and the idea of cooking these grandious things that I know I would take three bites of and be done with. Isn't that weird?

I have the same problem...so true about the love novels. You would think the food network is porn in my household as much as I love watching it and wondering what the stuff would taste like.

Deep fried pickles is definately southern. I can't get enough of them. Mostly, I can't get enough of anything deep fried! HA!

Ooh, I haven't had any fried green tomatoes or fried okra since banding. Kim, you've got me started.

Do find yourself also looking at the kitchen gadgets to see what new thing you need to add to that cluttered kitchen drawer?

Marie - Be quiet! Fried green tomatoes and fried okra! Give me a plate full of that and I will be nice for a week! Those are two of my very favorite! What time is supper?

I craved asparagus and brussell sprouts, so there's more proof I belong on another planet. When is the next space ship out of here?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
