Hi all. New to forum. Scheduled for the gastric sleeve on Tuesday and thinking about backing out. So many worrisome issues people are having in these forums. I am scared to death of complications. I have Hugh blood pressure sleep apnea and am borderline diabetic. I weigh 229 and my goal weight is 140. I know I need to do this but I am terrified there will be complications. Can anyone offer me any advice? I really don’t want to call this surgery off after all the hard work I’ve done. Sad and anxious.

I had surgery in January of 2018. It did take me 2 1/2 years to consider it in all honesty. But it was the best thing I ever did (other then having my daughter). I am happier and healthier then I ever thought I could be. I walk anywhere from 1to 3 miles about 4 times a week and don’t get winded. Bottom line is that you need to feel comfortable about it. Let your doctor know your fears see if they can ease your mind

Sheryl. Thanks for the post. I am looking forward to being able to walk long distances without being winded. I’ll be posting updates tomorrow.

I saw were you said you were a single parent. I am also and my mom was there for us during surgery. Take help where ever you can. Good luck!!

Yes. I am a single mom to three boys. Youngest is 13. My mother will be helping me and I have a lot of family support and friend support thankfully. Couldn’t do this without them.
