Hey fellow August surgery people...

How are you all doing???

I had my bypass on the 21st. Discharged on 22nd and feeling pretty good. Have a follow up appt tomorrow and plan to return to work on Sunday. I had the band in 2010 and had it removed in 2016, For some unknown reason, this has been the easiest of the 3 surgeries. I feel like its the most complicated and yet I feek okay. I'm ready to move on from liquids, fairly confident I will get the go ahead for that tomorrow. On to mushies!

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Lisa

Hi Lisa. I also am doing well. Surgery same day 8/21. Discharged on the 22. No problems. Everything is going very smooth. I had no pain just that horrible air. Feeling great. Not hungry at all. Still trying to meet he liquid goals. But feel energized. !!!!!

Hi, my surgery date was 8/20. I got the go ahead yesterday for stage 2, but I'm having trouble meeting my liquids and Protein.

Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

That's great you're on stage two - I'm jealous. I too had surgery on 8/20 and my f/u up isn't until next Tuesday... I feel like I'm ready for stage 2, I know I'm definitely craving Stage 2. Over the liquids now. LOL

Remember the liquids and Proteins are a goal. A goal you work towards each day. I can meet my Protein, but struggle with liquids

Cream of wheat? oh what I wouldn't give to have some cream of wheat! LOL.... I have cheated and snuck a tsp of Peanut Butter each night. It's given me the "need" I'm looking for.

It's on my liquid stage. Pack instant with 8oz fairlife skim milk. Very runny lol. Been Breakfast every day last 2 weeks. Tried oikos zero couple different flavors. To sweet I can only eat a couple spoons of it. I don't like plain /vanilla Greek yogurt. Loved fruit on bottom so if I can't eat that I don't want it. Same way with tea. Can't have my southern sweet tea so I don't drink tea.

Omg @MargoCL I feel you! When was your surgery? I got Bypass August 22nd and I am on Clear Liquids for 3 WEEKS!!! No jello! Yes I would give anything for cream Soup, or cream of wheat or anything! I can have no milk and everything must be strained and Water consistency!?!! Why oh why do the duets Varry so much!!!! I’m a week post surgery doubting heavily that I can do this for 2 more, it’s torture!? How can my body heal on broth? ??

I drank the Siggi’s drinkable yogurt. It was sweet, but less sweet than Protein Shakes, and it had the tart edge and fruit flavor (but no seeds/solids).

@ellie123, Surgery was 8/20. I guess technically I have 6 more days of liquids. I just emailed my Dr's office and told them I'm craving something with a little more substance, hoping they give me the OK for eggs or something. The Bone Broth has been my best friend this last week and half, but it's getting old. I didn't like many of the creamy Soups I tried prior to surgery so hesitant to try again and unfortunately there are no restaurants near me that specialize in just soups. I was traveling on my 2nd week of liquids on pre-op and found a great deli in Phoenix that had 5 different daily soups. I was able to mix them with my Protein powders and found substance and yuminess all in one :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
