We all freak a little. I try not to think about what they will be doing during surgery. I have faith in my surgeon. And I know he will help me and take care of me no matter what happens later. Most do not have problems. If i made it through a open hysterectomy which i had cut opened then this is doable for sure. We are all in this together.

Thank you. I completely trust my surgeon as well I just think my anxiety level went up when I was on my OR rotation for school and got to actually watch a surgeon do this procedure. Nothing bad happened but observing that freaked me out a bit.

And to only amplify what Kat000 just said, I had an open gallbladder/appendectomy,with a right paramedian incision, acute idiopathic pancreatitis, I've lived 72 years , had a son 31 and a husband die within 3 and a half years. I am in going in with a smile. on my face, peace in my m8nd and joy in my โค. No Matter What comes I Can Handle It! I am Steadfast, and I am Strong.๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿšฉ

Its like when they tell pregnant people not to watch videos of other women in labor. No need to promote the anxiety about the portion of your journey that you can't control. Focus on the outcome, and what you can do to prepare for the lifestyle change. This is a big deal, but it is going to be worth it. YOU deserve to be the best version of yourself and that's all we need to focus on. You will be glad you did. :)

Lol I had to watch because Iโ€™m a nursing student and itโ€™s a required clinical. ๐Ÿ˜‚ or else I wouldnโ€™t have been watching!

My surgery is scheduled for July 2 so Iโ€™m 10 days out! Everyone keeps asking how Iโ€™m feeling about it and if Iโ€™m nervous but honestly the only thing Iโ€™m thinking is FINALLY! Iโ€™ve been preparing for this since November and Iโ€™m so ready! Iโ€™m on the pre-op diet but itโ€™s not much different than my diet has been the last few months.

@JulesUp Welcome and best of luck on your surgery. I've been here only a short period of time but have learned tons and have found a wonderful community of extremely helpful people. By the way my tentative date is the 12th pending approval from insurance.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card ๐Ÿ
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours ๐Ÿ˜Žย and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, itโ€™s so bad Iโ€™m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. Iโ€™m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily,ย including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. ย I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. ย So far as of Jan 1st Iโ€™ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? ย Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.ย

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
