Around what time/what part of the process did everyone start getting their surgery date?

I’m 3 months in with the Bariatric weight loss program and I have yet to get a surgery date.

Usually when you are done with the program. Your date is generally scheduled 4-6 weeks after they submit paperwork/approve you

Oh, thanks.

Do they call you half way through the program? I haven’t seen the surgeon since end of February. They didn’t schedule me for a follow up or anything.

I didn’t meet my surgeon until I had finished the program and have only seen him once more at a pre-op.

my program was run by nurse coordinators and my nutritionist’s. Any questions/concerns I had went through them.

Not sure why you would need a follow up with the surgeon halfway through the program. Do you have a coordinator to assist you with everything?

I have yet to meet my surgeon and I finished all my clearances and my 6 month weigh ins (no diet or losing required) I also got the approval from my insurance. But tomorrow I finally meet with my surgeon and according to my information packet the surgery will be scheduled 2-3 weeks after the visit and I also get to choose which procedure I want done tomorrow (RNY of course).

I’ve only been dealing with support groups, the nutritionist and that’s it.

I will call tomorrow and see if I have to see surgeon before the end of the program. I was under the impression that you had to go in every two months to follow up on the weigh-ins..? Idk

But I guess the nutritionist does that too.

Hopefully you'll see Senor or Senorita Surgeon before your surgeon before your surgery. One poster said she saw hers for about 45 seconds before the anesthesiologist put her to sleep, at least she, thinks it was him, everybody had masks on. Another said she saw hers the morning afterwards when he made rounds, she thinks it was him because she had seen him 7 months before in the office and never again.
I know delegation of responsibility is common but for what your insurance or you yourself are paying him, if he's not going to see you personally again, he should at least fax you an 8 by 10 glossy picture so you'll recognize him. Wish my ex-surgeon had given me his picture, that way I'd have something to throw darts at. My future surgeons, I just, pull up OSU's Bariatric website on Google or Firefox and there they are, in full smiling pose..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
