Mini gastric bypass vs. Gastric bypass?

So I am nearly 21 and I am considering the mini gastric bypass. I understand that insurance does not cover this procedure but I was wondering if there is a risk for acid reflux? Would I have a better chance of not getting acid reflux if I just went with the standard gastric bypass? Thank you!

    There is a risk of bile reflux which can actually be worse. There is a MBG group on fb that has a lot of posts about this .

    There is a step that they can take during surgery to decrease the chances of it happening but you would need to make sure your surgeon is familiar with how to do that.
