I hate it when people post just to post.....

....like when clearly the post has no relevance or adds no value to the OP's question or concern.

Like this:

OP Question: I am having trouble finding a good fish recipe I like...can anyone help?

Response: I hate fish! Fish makes me gag!

Can someone explain the purpose of this? I mean, if you don't like fish, then why dont you just move on to the next thread? Who really cares what makes you gag or not gag???? I know I don't.

Yikes, Slim! :smile2: The schools are closed because of flooding? Wow!

I remember when we first moved to Houston, it was June 2006, and in July that year we had flooding so bad that a car in front of me started to drift sideways. I thought, "where the HECK did we move to?????"

The tropics.

What most people call torrential rains, Houston calls spring.

I remember the first fall we lived in our new house (older house, new to us), and we had gone to a weekend marriage seminar through our church. The "rules" were no TV and we were either in our rooms, eating in the hotel restaurant, or in the seminar. We never even went outside from Friday night until we left late Sunday afternoon.

We knew it was raining, but we didn't know it was RAINING. We got home to see pontoon boats being trailered out of our neighborhood and cars lined all up and down the main street in (the neighborhood had one main street in and out and short streets that intersected it with cul-de-sacs at either end). Of course we're having an oh s**t moment, right?

Luckily for US the flooding only came within three streets of ours. Ours was a narrow but deep subdivision (1.5 miles deep) and the further back it went, the more it dipped down towards Cypress Creek.

We had no idea the POTENTIAL for flooding when we bought, but we were very lucky that we were typically safe.

Good Morning All!

My youngest daughter has H1N1 flu. It stinks that she is 1800 miles away.

Yikes! Where we are now, the water has come up into the yard, and up to the patio - but that was during Ike. So, since that's the worst it's gotten at this house, then I think we're okay for future rains.

I love playing in the rain, but with the potential for snakes and other ickies...I stay inside.

Oh, no! :smile2: That sucks! Does she have anyone nearby to help her?

OMG, CC, are you SERIOUS???

Prayers for her... AND for you. :smile2:

She is in Texas. I sent an email to her father but have heard nothing back from him. She has a band so I am thankful she has not been vomiting. She just got home from the ER - she had a 103.5 temp. She feels terrible. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Congrats.

Well, I'm not an optimist, so I'll be holding off the happy dance until I get the official letter.

But thank you...

Reminds me Rho... Just traded out my plate from when I was a teen.. Have them in the garage now...

Oregon plate "devlish" if anyone is looking for some customer plates here rofl.

I also have Brands since in the state of oregon you cannot have a plate that says Brandy as it promotes drinking and driving. Go figure.
