Oh we are getting to be like a mini-America here (not that that is a bad thing IMO). We get alot of the TV shows you guys get, but a lot of them are on pay TV. Where I live we only have 5 free to air TV channels, you can get a couple of different paid TV providers that have things like Fox 8 and the History channel and stuff like that. I don't watch enough TV to warrant paying $100 a month for extra channels though.

My husband (who is American) says Australia is like the States was 15-20 years ago. Things like the fact that our shopping malls shut at 5:30pm totally shocked him when he came here. He was like, but what if I want to go to target at 9pm on a Tuesday.....Ummm you can't haha

And I just saw a dude I went to high school with on the Aussie version of the Proactiv TV advert (it was on in the background). He was saying how women approach him now because his pimples are gone. How bizarre!

Oh don't worry we're in the crappah like you guys. Our dollar has gone from approx 92 US cents (highest it has been in a couple of decades) to 66 in the space of a few weeks. The only good thing that might come out of it is that interest rates might come down after the Reserve Bank of Australia lowered theirs by 100 points this week. A couple of the bigger banks have passed on the rate cut, but the others have yet to follow suit. We're not holding our breaths though. So, we're all in this together, I don't think there will be many countries in the world who will go unaffected in some way because of all this. It pretty scary actually.
