Now I don't know anything about mild coffee ...So back to the grind tonight - going to be a rough one!

Pun intended? Coffee? Grind? coffee grind....oh never mind.

Why a rough night?

Mystery Brew. Generally MB is a mix of the others so that new pots can be made. I take my chances.

Ewww...some of the coffee might be over 20 minutes old. ick.

You do better on the Pouch test than I do - I don't even get started!

LOL

DH just left for MX City

He gets around, doesn't he? Didn't he just get back from Canada?

Pool girl - how was your psych eval?

Ebony - have you had your meeting yet? Keep strong!

Tap - first nights back are always hard (they're my 24 hr+ nights - so rough there) in addition the longer I've been off before I have a first night back makes it harder to go back (been off for 1.5 weeks) on top of that - travel, climbing a mountain and sleeping no more on vacation than when I'm off has made me an exhausted girl - sooooooo.........ROUGH NIGHT!

I will be needing coffee (or coffee flavored milk as I like to drink it)

Plus side - hair appt this afternoon - yeah!!!!

Glou - I am actually going to do the 5 d pouch test, starting today too. Too much indulgence on vacation (the homemade sundaes were killer) I was fortunate to actually not have gained any weight - thanks to the walking and hiking but I want to try and jumpstart some more loss in addition to clearing my taste buds of the Snacks I became accustomed to. - we'll do it together - we can do it!

yes, was in toronto last wk.....london next.

i use to travel w/him - or meet up between my business trips, before we bought our ranch & i called it a day working ..... it's too much an effort & cost to join him these days.

he does work out of the house, when not traveling . sorta enjoying a bit of travel back in his gig, so i can get "stuff" done:)

My DH had to travel quite a bit when he first started his current job. We all (me, DS, and DH) enjoyed DH being gone during the week. My grocery bill went down. Utility bills went down. Then the travel just stopped. It was awful getting used to him being underfoot again.

I AM PISSED!

Apparently while I was in the airport yesterday (used the tmobile hotspot for internet access) somebody stole my credit card # used to pay the 7.99 all day charge for the access.

I know it wasn't from any gift shop/coffee shop purchase b/c I used my travel credit card and cash for that.

They apparently bought several hundred dollars worth of stuff at Bebe.com

I know the fraud lady was just being thorough - but she was like are you sure you didnt purchase this stuff - I was like lady - I couldnt dream of fitting into anything they make (which I only now know - b/c I had to go online to figure out what they were)

So now they have to close down that account which really stinks b/c that's how all my electronic bills are paid - uuuggghhhhh!

That is so awful! It still boggles my mind the absolute gall of people! They will reverse it all won't they? Have you verified all of your other credit card accounts haven't been stolen?

not sure what company you have, but you can get a new acct issued immediately under these circumstances. the problem once you have that - relaying that info over to your utility companies.

sucks hon!!!!

interesting, just bought a few bebe tanks - ... NOPE, not me that stole your cc:) **hugs**

FYI.. I think I am still recovering from the concert ugg...

Glo- you're crazy .. I suck a the 5 day test so props to you. By the end of day one I am hiding in the closet with a bag of chips rofl. You can do it though.

Lu- I have my DH rollin over the wine we mailed. He keeps asking me if theres anything he needs to know or do while I am doin hard time.

Kc- that sucks. My CC was stolen online and someone bought a bunch of UGG boots. Mind you I love them so when DH got the bill he asked how many feet I had. I said 2 .... He said take the other 14 pairs back then haha.

I called them and they reversed the charge and cancelled the account.

You can do it! Rah Rah! (See, I'm a great cheer leader, but not one to do these things). I did my 10 days pre-op no problem, and followed the post op plan (of one month's duration) to the 't', but to do it now seems impossible!!

I'll continue to cheer you and Glou from the ether!

Hmmmm.....I wonder if this is how DH feels. When we met, and for the first few years living together, I was doing a fair bit of travel. Now it is one or 2 trips a year - that's it. I wonder if I should ask him? NOPE!

I'm so sorry KC...I'm close to being paranoid about using my cc# at any time for fear of something similar happening. Do you know if any other people using that same service were also victims?

you gave us a chuckle last night -

when not traveling DH is HOME working & annoying at times.

there is no schedule - he wants to go to the gym w/me.....but has a con call; so 3hrs later, wants to go have lunch, or wants me to cook something - keep the dogs quiet for this webex.

i got a "certain" schedule and he throws it off daily & w/many animals - i have to have some kind of routine.

we're building a loft on top of the garage that will be his office, i need him out of the house:):blushing:

Other accounts ok - so far - just the one used for internet - don't know if it was electronic by putting it in or someone watching my typing - I've heard of that happening.

not sure what company you have, but you can get a new acct issued immediately under these circumstances. the problem once you have that - relaying that info over to your utility companies.

They are going to reverse the charges but they have to let it post first as part of the investigation and they said the refund may take up to 5-6 days - which coincidently is how long it ill take to get my new card! uuggghhh!

Sure - just cause I cooked my indian feast for someone else :blushing:

It's the Tap and Slim show in the morning again! Love it!

KC~ Oh man that sucks! We had somebody do that and make a ton of purchases on ebay - I was at a horse show and DH thought I was buying all kinds of weird things! NO - somebody had our card number. The CC company caught it and contacted us.

Make sure you also reset your passwords, just to be safe!

Lu~ I would love for my DH to travel. I like the down time. He hardly ever goes anywhere, but it is nice to have a few days here and there. I am the one that travels with my students and he hates it! Doesn't want to care for the kids, animals, yards/plants, and house by himself - too much work! No kidding!!!

5-Day Pouch Test~ thought about it, never have started. I will be cheering with Tap from the sidelines! Go KC, go Glouc!

Well, I thought I would check in during my lunch so I was not so far behind in the evening! BBL!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
