Have you tried Protein coffee? You make a Protein Powder sludge and mix it in instead of cream. You can use unflavored or a flavor that goes well with coffee.

What a horrible thing to do to coffee...ick! Black. No additions of any kind. Only way to have coffee.

P.S. Fanny - it's a good thing I like you because otherwise your weather posting would be just enough to piss me off!:)
If it makes you feel any better, they revised our forecast downwards and this is the current one - raining every day AGAIN!

Friday Shower or two. Min 10 Max 21

Saturday Shower or two, increasing. Min 11 Max 21

Sunday Few showers, easing. Min 9 Max 18

Monday Few showers. Min 7 Max 18

Tuesday Shower or two. Min 6 Max 17

Wednesday Few showers. Min 7 Max 17

Note: Min 6C = 43F, 10C = 50F; Max 21C = 70F, 17C=62.5F

Mind you, we NEED the rain!! And last week was just stunningly beautiful weather... the Max was about the same, about 21-23C but the skies were totally clear and bright blue, lovely sunshiny days... I do love our winter. Summer on the other hand...

PS: Ebony, you hang in there, mate!! I'm sending special DownUnder joo joo that a new job comes up soon for you!

I'm just sayin' I'm not very good and I can't even cheat very well! I would need some lessons from Lu, so I probably would need to pay attn to the tape! Maybe a couple of drinks and I would be set to go:thumbup: I would wear many layers - so no worries!

Better yet, they could have a few drinks. . . Now I'm thinkin'! :)

I'm a coffee wimp - used to never be able to drink it and now have progressed up to drinking what I like to refer to as coffee flavored milk (lattes - even had to start with single shots - now it's full leaded for me :))

Well, you wear everything you own, get them liquored up, and make sure they come dressed like this:

Oh yeah, and get lessons from Lu. And maybe her mojito recipe.

I too have cleaned out a few pockets (especially of Rick's friends!!) playing poker! Everyone expects me to be stupid!! I took about 2 hands to figure them out! It isn't the standard bluff---of hiding a good hand, it is faking them out, letting them think you have a bad one they can beat easily, let them battle it out between the boys, and then slam 'em!!! LOVE it!!!

We do not play high stakes, tho----so while it goes in our fun fund, it is not vacation worthy amounts!!!

No new grandson yet, looks like about 7 AM Friday morning. We really needed another August birthday!!! I was just counting to myself, and there 8 in our immediate family and now this little guy!! And the only 2 the same are my niece and mine!

Work sucked today. My office manager, has been taking lessons from Ebony's boss. Being bitchy as hell. She is hot under the collar about me taking Friday off, as it is a swamped schedule. I warned them over a month ago. I have files ready. Everyone is pre authorized, and all that needs added to the file is dates. If she would cut back on the greed, and quit bumping the schedule with walk ins she would be fine Friday. She had us so over booked this afternoon doing that, I thought we would never get out of there.

Then she went on this cleaning kick---sorry I did not hire on to be a maid nor a janitor for them----not gonna do it. Period. If I had hired for that position then fine, I do not consider myself above it, but they have shifted my position enough already, not doing any other jobs for them....screw that!

Well it is off to bed for me.....late in tomorrow, so will check in in the morning.

For those who do, I need prayers sent up, please.

My mom called tonight and said that my dad had an MRI on his head on Monday due to severe dizzy spells and memory loss. The MRI tech told him that she saw a mass on the left side of his head but was not able to truly read the results in order to know if it is solid or liquid. His doctor will be back in town at the end of the week (they hope).

My folks were hoping all it is is a cyst he's had forever on the left side behind his ear, which hasn't come to the surface for years, had turned inward.

I am finding out (but haven't shared with my mom) that it's more likely than not that it's cancer. We won't know until we know, but I've written my mom and told her to get recommendations and line up a neurosurgeon asap so that they'll have somebody his doctor can refer him to.

I'm a bit numb right now, so I'll close. I'll let you know when I know something. Right now I'm the only sibling that has been told anything.

Beth - prayers are up hon - hang in there!

OK on a lighter note - let's have some lessons from work:

lesson#1 - if you have come in because you have multiple gun shot wounds throughout your body (and it's not your first trip for that reason) and you have multiple tattoos everywhere - do NOT cry to me when I give you a tetanus shot.

lesson#2 - if you are a Dr and a RN politely informs you that you have ordered a wrong (very wrong) dose of a critical medication - the correct response is thank you - not 'I don't have time for this trivial crap'!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
