Um, yes. "Somebody" didn't place it, I placed it. It is for the TV show "Chuck" b/c I love Zachary Levi and his cute self! Can I get an "amen" MommaMac?

My DH works with a guy who has no personal space bounderies....makes me crazy!

A couple of years ago my DH had a life threatening GI bleed following mismanaged coumadin therapy for a heart valve surgery, and the close talker come to the hospital....and talked to me very closely for waaaaay too long. Then he brought out this little stone box, he said a prayer, and held it under DH's nose, then put the lid on, and handed it to me and told me Rick's soul was now in there. FREAKED me out he was so wierd......however I have NEVER opened the friggin' box either!!!!

'Tis Friday...so much work to finish, so little time! I have the IPOD loaded with the music of 'females with powerful voices' (I have my own categories for music). So, I'm turning up the volume and gonna get at it!

PJTP...I'm only TWO days away from being banded!:w00t::tongue2::tt2::w00t:

I'm going to do the last of my pre-op shopping today and tomorrow (if I can't find some things). I'm all cleaned up at work, have told everyone I'll be out for a week due to abdominal surgery (I had already arranged to take vacation on Thanksgiving week) and I can't wait!

Had my Protein shake this morning (chocolate with Peanut Butter - YUM!) and will have a whole food lunch, then a shake for dinner...don't want to gain any weight pre-surgery.

Thanks to everyone here for making me laugh, for helping me keep my head on straight, and for the occasional WTF? moment

Will try to check in on the weekend - though I usually don't because they are so busy - but will definately check in when I get home on Tuesday afternoon. DH is working midnights, so he'll come and get me on Tuesday after he gets off work (and after he's had a nap...he's a real crank when he's sleepy, and it's a 1 hour drive to New Haven from my home).

I'm going to drive to New Haven and leave my car in secured parking, then he will take the train and pick the car up, then pick me up.

I'm soon to be banded!!!!:lol::blink::lol:

Regarding personal space and oral odors, What if you can smell it trailing someone?

What then?

Yes, I DID know someone like that.

LilMissDiva - that is a hard situation...several years ago, I had the same problem. Well, actually more than 10 years ago. My breath was awful...and I couldn't smell it!

It took a really good work acquaintance to tell me about it, and yes, my feelings were hurt, but I'm really glad she told me rather than just talk about me behind my back. It ended up with me going to the dentist and finding out I had some really troubled teeth. That eventually led to me finding out I was a type II diabetic. My dentist said "Your teeth wouldn't be that bad if you never brushed them for 5 years - there is something systemic going on"...I thank GOD someone said something, because if I had gone undiagnosed, there were all sorts of bad things that could have happened.

As long as it's done with a reasonable amount of sensitivity - if you know this person fairly well, you could ask them if their health is okay...that might get them talking, and if they ask you why, say that it's been talked about in the office (because I'm sure it has) and you're concerned for them (which is the truth). Rehearse the conversation in your head and if it sounds "soft" enough, you might want to soften it a bit further to be sure.

It won't be an easy conversation, but it must be had. There may be something serious health-wise going on, and knowing that other people have noticed might be the push your co-worker needs to DO something about it.

Good luck!:tongue2:

Wow, that's a brave, brave thing ER is asking of Diva. The only way I'd do that is if tihs person was someone significant in my life.

Donna - you're right, it is a LOT to ask (or suggest) someone do...I think Diva's up to it though, based on her posts I've seen here...

I know the pain of being talked about behind my back... it's not something I'd wish on my worst enemy, and something I hope to avoid when I can. If I can encourage even one someone to SAY SOMETHING to the person being dissed, and they can make a change that helps their health or their self-esteem, then I guess it's okay. :tongue2:

That said, if Diva doesn't feel comfortable doing this, no pressure here...I completely understand!:tt2:

LOL, thanks! :tongue2: And what exactly have you seen?

However not even I am that brave. I was referring to an old boss I used to work for about 10 years ago. No one ever told him and only talked behind his back, unfortunately. It was bad.

I think he used to starve himself though and hunger does lead to foul breath.

Then I'm in trouble... I'm only hours into my first day of liquid pre-op stuff and I'm famished...

Had a couple EAS Myoplex drinks (love those) earlier in the day, but just finished an unjury chicken broth and wow, that was good. Smelled too good, though, cuz it got everything working overtime. :tongue2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
