Hey guys I’m on the process of getting my gastric sleeve done. I’m 25 5”8. 275 pounds with a 43 BMI . I have my first visit with my Surgeon DR Vadim Gritsus on May 10th. I already have my necessary letter from my primary doctor. I also suffer from sleep apnea. I’m just curious to hear from you guys what are my chances of getting my sleeve approve by my insurance. I have Horizon NJ health.

Insurance coverage has huge variability. Hell some just flat out dont cover WLS. Only your Surgeon can answer this question clearly cause they most likely have worked with your Insurance company in the past.

From a general perspective you have a high enough bmi and have at least 1 comorbidity.

but Insurance is anything except rational so you will have to wait and see
