Any MAY sleevers???

Recommended Posts

A month tomorrow, it's been an interesting month. Definitely harder than I anticipated and have really started to appreciate just how much my social life revolves around food. Struggling to get down anymore than 2-3 bites of basically anything at this stage before feeling really full, so trying to stick more to fluids (protein shakes and Soups etc) have definitely had quite a few moments of regret, but trying to get my head around the fact that they are mostly related to the things I know I now won't be able to do, which are mostly things I shouldn't do anyway (like sitting down to a huge burger, fries and coke) Happy with the weight loss progress, I have lost a total of 16kg (35 pounds) since surgery and a total of 32.6 (71.8 pounds) since I started my weight loss journey back in January this year.

I had my post op visit on May 31st and I have lost 22 lbs. since my pre op visit on May 8th. TWENTY-TWO pounds in THREE weeks! I was shook lol and to top it off I got the green light to move on to pureed foods. Applesauce and avocado are my faves at the moment. Still struggling to get in my Protein but I know it will get easier. My doctor wants me back in the office in 3 months and wants me to lose 15 lbs. or more. I feel like that is going to be a piece of cake! In case anyone is wondering I am 5'2 and now weigh 220 lbs.

I am about a week and a half post op and still have very little energy. But I have began to feel much better, so hopefully I will start feeling normal again soon!

I bounced back on the morning of my 6th day post op. I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I feel really good, energy-wise! Just keep swimming, you'll pull through this :-)

I’m 17 days post op today and I feel really good ..it doesn’t even feel like I had a surgery, the liquid diet it’s what reminds me that I had a surgery and that I can’t eat nothing ..I’m having a hard time drinking all that Water because it’s just sipping and i feel that I’m not getting enough water, and I’m very constipated to the point that i ended up in the ER and they had to drain me out to take all the hard rock stool that i had in there

Meggs11 I hear ya!! I am three weeks postop today and still take naps every day. I have super low Iron saturation so I tire easily as it is but only eating between 300 to 700 calories a day isn’t much fuel to run on. My best friend who had the sleeve surgery a year and a half ahead of me warned me that I would just be worn out. I’m glad I knew in advance so that I could be reassured that this is completely normal. My husband who had his sleeve surgery April 9, five weeks ahead of me, is doing amazing energy wise. We will get there girl.

OUCH!!! I’m so sorry! I agree that it’s difficult to get in all of the required liquids in daily. What I’ve been doing is to set a timer on my phone for 30 minutes after I eat. When the timer goes off it’s time to drink. That way I won’t forget or lose track of time. I also had really painful Constipation and resorted to eating a couple of servings of baby food prunes. It worked. I’m reminded of Dory from Nemo “just keep sipping, just keep sipping...”. :)

I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and I am experiencing the same. After a few activities such as a doctors appointment, I will nap for an hour or two. I go back to work next week.

Surgery was May 17th, at 2.5-3 weeks post-op I hit my first stall! Thank goodness I measured myself so I don't have to rely strictly on the scale (lost 5 1/2 inches). It's still frustrating though, but I am doing everything right so I just have to push through the stall. I also started taking a stool softener, hopefully it helps. My BM's have been infrequent and too big to pass easily when they do come. Anyone else hit a stall yet?

I had surgery May 18th and have stalled. I took measurements today as a second form of tracking.

Ok so I got cocky because I’d been doing so well on Day 15. I figured rather that my egg beaters with a little bit of milk and cheese, I’d try an egg bite from Starbucks. I figured same relative ingredients, high protein/low carb and was soft. I ate it slowly and chewed a lot.

Stomach was quite no bueno for a bit. Almost puked at work 🙄. Lesson learned. Stick to only things I control the ingredients in making.

doh, sorry it didn't agree with you. Regular scrambled egg at home didn't agree with me the first time, thankfully nothing so far has made me puke (touch wood), but they just didn't sit right and made me uncomfortable for a while. I waited a few weeks and they sit better now, but I still don't really enjoy them like I used to :(

I just got a few low carb / high Protein products delivered today, special blends to make high protein pancakes, seeded bread and a banana bread (generally <5g carbs per serving, and 15-20g protein) so I'll try some of those and if they also don't sit well, I will try again a few weeks later.

How is everyone doing on Vitamins? I’m failing and my body is rejecting them. I’d love to try Patches but have gotten mixed reviews.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
