Hello everyone. So excited to hear all your journey. Can’t wait to update with mine. After a little snafu, I am scheduled for the sleeve on 4/19. That’s tomorrow. TO.MOR.ROW! Nervous and anxious.

I’m 45 from Los Angeles, and one of those lower BMI, but still obese with multiple comorbidities. Fortunately/Unfortunately, after my preop liquid diet, I loss just enough to be no longer qualified. Instead, I’m having mine in Mexico, as I’m stalled, still have comorbidities, and in no way able to sustain that diet on my own. Wishing everyone the best and speedy recovery!

I had my sleeve done on the 10th and feeling pretty good and down 11 lbs from surgery day. Still sore at the larger incision site where they removed the stomach, but that is to be expected. So far, I have been able to keep up with my fluids and Protein, but the shakes are so sweet now, that they have been harder to get down. I bought some of the Soups and hot chocolate from the Bariatric Pal Store with the extra protein and just got them in today, so that will be a nice change up. Hope everyone is doing well and to everyone that will be sleeved soon, I wish you all the best!

I was sleeved April 3rd, the taste buds changes quickly. I use to like the shakes and after surgery the vanilla was sickly sweet. Then they started to make me sick so I switched to powder...again sick. My doctor told me to switch to unflavored powder and sprinkle the protein in my greek yogurt, egg whites, and applesauce. So I get as close as I can to my protein intake daily. Monday I'm graduating to soft and squishy foods. I can find foods high in protein and meet my intake. Bye bye liquids

Isn't it amazing how quickly our tastes buds change? Some of the ones I liked before, I can barely stomach. I know you are ready to move on to the next stage! It will be so much easier to get protein in from different sources. I had bought the unflavored powder too, been adding it to my broths and pudding. Every little bit helps, that's for sure. Wishing you all the best!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
