Shopping! I’ve always spent time and money on shoes, sunglasses, handbags and jewelry to accessorize and look nice because those sizes don’t change. Then i wear inexpensive plus size clothes to try to pull it together. It’s a dream to go on to a normal website/store and buy a normal size on the rack...no more “I wish...”. Like that dress? Go get your size and try it on!!

Unfortunately, as I’ve discovered, losing weight quickly means expensive clothing isn’t a wise investment. Thrift stores are an option, sure, but most of the stuff I’ve found there has been stained and/or threadbare. So it is kind of jarring to be small enough to buy clothing off the rack at most retailers, but still have to wear Walmart dress shirts and jeans.

It is pretty awesome the first time you can buy clothing for yourself in a store, though; two years ago, when I lost some weight on Saxenda, I went a little overboard on a trip to an outlet mall.

giggle giggle definitely wiping the but a little easier, would be nice.

putting on boots nice and easy would be nice.

doing my own toenails would be nice.

being in a loving relationship that was sexual without being embarrassed about my belly would be nice.

Im looking forward to making a quilt with a little piece of every bit of cloths that no longer fit.

oh i could go on and on.

I want to make pillows out of some of my favourite geeky t-shirts once they're too big. Too bad I have no clue how to use a sewing machine.

Perhaps a little petty, but I'll say it anyway. All of us encounter people who feel they are superior in some way. Maybe they feel smarter, prettier, richer, more sophisticated, etc. Before losing weight I would have never had the confidence to challenge them and their unacceptable behavior.

Now I have no problem looking them in they eye, responding to their imagined superiority, and I never let them walk away having gotten away with it.

Kind of silly, but I enjoy it immensely. And guess what - they back down every time. Every. Single. Time. I love not feeling inferior.

- I want to weigh less than my husband and be able to wear his jackets/sweatshirts/t-shirts. I hate it when I'm cold and he offers me his jacket and I feel embarrassed to put it on because Lord knows I can't zip it! (can I get an amen?!) ;) I don't want people to look at us like, how did that fat girl get with that guy who's in such good shape?!

- Tall boots

- Leggings, y'all! I want to wear leggings!

- To be able to keep up with my nephews and my niece without having to rest.

I want to weigh much less than Tomkitten (my son) -not easy since at our last mutual PCP appointment he weighed only 252 to my 300+. Then people won't say "Such a nice guy, shame he has to drag his fat old mother around with him!" he might enjoy hearing them, I don't. I should say ***** them all but I always cared too much what other people would say. I always tried to be a smoother and people pleaser, now I wonder what it gained me? People don't much appreciate a wet soggy doormat, do they?

Yesssss!! I’m not married but I would like to date and it would be really nice to know that I can fit into a guys jacket! Love those movies when the woman wakes up next to a guy and puts his shirt on and it looks like a dress. I want that!! Just dreaming over here lol.

Double crossing my legs. I can do it left over right, not right over left yet. (This pic is from google, not me)

I can wear belts, go on rides, shop at any store, play with my kids, wear a swim suit, you name it. Everything is better. The BEST though...going into my doctor with NO SHAME. All my results are great and within normal limits.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
