Proper diet?

I’m going to start my diet tomorrow to get a head start on the gastric sleeve, any tips? I’m hoping to get an early start so that it might help my cravings!

I’m right there with you. I just had my orientation last Thursday. I started my prep op diet the very next day. It’s been rough. I cut out all carbonated, caffeinated, and sugar beverages. No coffee, no tea, nothing. My plan has me on about 1200 calorie diet. It’s about 3oz of protein, 2 cups of raw veggies, or 1 cup of cooked, one starch, and one fat like 1oz avocado or 1oz oil. I’ve been doing well with 3oz of chicken (I weigh it on scale), broccoli, mini sweet peppers, turkey lunch meat on 1 slice of whole grain bread... 1/2 cup small potatoes for my starch. Ect. Lots and lots of water . The first 3 or 4 days were the WORST! Very hard! Headaches, no energy, nothing. Be prepared. But it will pass. I don’t even have my surgeon appt yet. I meet with my psych in about 2 weeks, and I wanted to show that I am ready.

That’s me and what I hope to do, I’m more than ready to get a new start on my life! My first appointment is next Wednesday! Today I smoked my last cig, drank my last pop, and ate my last super greasy meal (long John silvers), I know I’m making it sound like I’m on death row but losing all my high calorie friends (food, soda, etc) is horrible! But I’m optimistic!

Hang in there, you’re in for a bumpy ride. My last meal was Taco Bell hahaha [emoji30]

I quit smoking 3weeks before my first pre op appt with an occasional slip here and there u have to a negative nicotine test if you were a previous smoker so because I slipped and smoked a few cigs now I have to wait three more weeks before the test and I'm drinking detox tea everyday you have to not smoke at all for 4 weeks in order for all nicotine to leave your system that was the second to last thing I had to accomplish before all paper work will be submitted and PRAYERFULLY approved for gastric sleeve surgery

I’m so excited, I’m just bug in my face belly and inner thighs, I carry my weight well, it’s just so heartbreaking when you go to the store and can’t find clothes to fit, only clothes they have is for normal people
