Nine days postop and I just got braces on my teeth.

I am almost pain free after surgery. I am hardly ever hungry. It is easy to follow my liquid diet although I am a bit board with it. I have lost about 13lbs. I don't have much energy, I sleep a lot. Constipation and bloating hit pretty bad around day 7. I fixed that with a variety of methods. Overall I am doing well. I decided it was a good time to finally get some much needed braces seeing as I will be on a liquid/soft food diet for some time. A lot of changes for me in a short time. I am excited for the future and focusing on that as I struggle with all of these changes in my life.

You are getting it done BlueGirl1920. No time like the present to check items off of your to-do list. At the same time, be gentle on yourself. You need extra sleep right now. And you're not getting enough nutrients for good energy. Those will work themselves out over time. Yes, the future is exciting and filled with promise.

Congrats on both counts! I got my braces off (after 2.5 years) in Dec 2016. Like you said, this is not a bad time at all to get the braces - it's so hard to eat at first, so eating liquids, purees, and soft foods will be perfect while you get adjusted to them! Woot woot!
