Well I tried 2 shrimp for the first time last night, and omg I felt horrible and they came right back up. I'm not sure I will ever eat shrimp again. I have mixed feelings, on the one hand I can no longer brag about how easy this has been and I've had no issues; on the other hand it's reassuring to know that my stomach will tell me when something is too much, too early etc.

I would do a ticker on the bottom but I can't figure out how to do it!

Dang! I know you tried this, but were they "soft cooked"? I have much better results if I don't overcook things and make them dry and rubbery? Also, small bites, chew like hell, eat very slowly! :( Also, never underestimate the power of good low cal/low carb/low fat sauce hon! I use avocado and Tomato (seedless/skinless) to "lube" shrimp. :)

I can teach you about the ticker if you wanna pm me. But you have to be on a real computer, not the phone app. ((hugs))

Stats first:

HW 427.4 (Jan. 2)

SW: 413 (Feb. 15)

Last week: 378.4

Today: 372.8

So, down 5.6 since last week, 40.2 since surgery, and 54.6 overall.

The last week has been semi-hellish, and I finally started feeling better yesterday. Advanced to regular foods on Thursday, dumped twice, and missed work Friday and Monday (and was miserable over the weekend) due to bowel issues -- likely the beginning stages of a bowel obstruction forming. Averted that, thankfully, but it took a lot of Miralax and stool softeners. I haven't really been able to "enjoy" the regular food stage yet because of those issues (I reverted back to a liquid/super soft diet while I was having issues) and I was afraid to eat last night, but I managed to eat a baked chicken tender with cheese without any problems. Then I made some deviled eggs (the only way I like eggs) with low-fat mayo and pickle relish, and my stomach said "absolutely not!" after just one bite, so now my mom has some deviled eggs she can eat.

Today, I started mixing Benefiber in with my morning Protein Shake, and within 15 minutes of drinking it, my body was already reacting, like "Fiber? What's THAT?!?!?" I've been doing pretty well at getting my liquids and Protein in, and I'm averaging 350-500 calories a day.

Hi everyone. I’ve missed the last 2 weigh ins. I’m actually up 4 pounds since my last post. On the 21st we left for Miami. My family had a Disney cruise booked since well before my surgery date was set. I was cleared for an unrestricted diet starting the 17th so I thought I would be good. We drove from Chicago straight through to Miami and at the start of the trip I was good but 23 hours of driving I caught myself snacking on the kids pretzels or goldfish. I made sure to get my Protein in but just like the trip down carbs made their way into my diet on the cruise. I usually only ate an appetizer at dinner and got my fill. My body would let me know if I wasn’t behaving, at least once a day I had to go to the bathroom to purge because I ate too much or too fast. I’m upset about the 4 pounds but I did it to myself I didn’t always make the best choices and now that I’m home again I can right the ship.

Hello All.

Stats:

HW: 296.5

SW: 291 (2/14/18)

CW: 260

Just over six weeks out. Can eat and drink just about anything. I do have a couple of aversions. Almost like being pregnant when the smell of certain food would make me want to vomit. That’s how it’s become with my beloved roasted garlic / red pepper hummus. Can’t do it anymore or at least right now.

I don’t measure or count anything. The restriction “trained” me on what small portions look like real fast. Eating past capacity is so incredibly uncomfortable and seems to take hours to feel human again. So I know my portions size pretty well now. I Drink something most of the day and keep it moving. So far, I’m 31 lbs down.

Looking to get in the gym next week. After all, I’ve been paying membership fees for the last four years! [emoji30]

Best of luck!

I haven't been able to notice a difference in myself with my weight loss, but today Timehop showed me a picture from a year ago today (I was wearing the exact same shirt, ha!) and I can actually see it for once.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
