I’m only 10 days post op and yesterday I had my first experience of dumping syndrome. It was awful, the stomach cramps, hot and cold, everything really took its tole on me.

Today I’ve woken up and I’m feeling low and deflated like I’ve made a huge mistake. Everything was going so well in my recovery and now I feel like it’s all a mistake.

I’m trying so hard to pick myself up but just feel like hiding away and crying. Had anyone else felt like this?

Tons of people feel and felt this way, so don't give up. It kind ofblike buyers remorse. And depression is common after surgery. But It DOES get better and time is the key. Remind yourself constantly the reason you had surgery. Keep going and stay very close to your plan also try to figure out what triggers the reaction and steer clear of it. You can do this!!!

I had dumping before my surgery and I know how you feel. Don’t think of it as a failure. It’s your body’s natural defense and it should not last. Since my surgery 6/12/17 I have had it 4 times and two of them it was my fault because I was asking for it. Just make a note of what causes it and try to steer clear or limit it. Good luck and don’t beat yourself up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
