What's worse: Breast reduction surgery or Gastric sleeve procedure??

Recommended Posts

I had a breast reduction and c.section so comparing the pain. How would u rate the sleeve procedure .. breast reduction got pretty much completely healed by 6 wks.. c-section i healed pretty quickly maybe 2 -3 wks- ( still sore to the touch of course) j went to my first doc visit and felt pretty good.. so this surgery I'm wondering could I compare it to one of these.. has anyone had a breast reduction ?? How and what would u compare it to..

I had a breast reduction many years ago. And I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago.

I just had a bypass not a sleeve, but it was WAY easier than either of those two! By a mile!!

I haven't had breast reduction, but I've had various surgeries, including an open (not laparascopic) hysterectomy, and I'd compare the sleeve surgery to my gall bladder removal. That is to say, very little pain and rapid recovery. You'll have a lot of adjustment to the internal change--having the tiny stomach--but as long as you eat according to your doctor's and/or nutritionist's instructions, that should cause minimal difficulty as well. Your experience may vary, of course, but it sounds as though you don't have serious pain issues with surgeries, so I'd guess you'll find it fairly easy.

My breast reduction surgery was MUCH worse than my bypass surgery ... for pain and healing time. Bypass was easy compared to that!

Sleeve was so much easier than my breast reduction. I had virtually no pain with my sleeve operation. Never took a pain pill. The mental/behavioral challenge was much harder for me with the sleeve than the physical part. BR healing was much longer/harder.

I had breast reduction 7 years ago and was sleeved on 12/27. Reduction pain way worse than sleeve. I have a high tolerance for pain so the sleeve was not bad. I did not use my pain pump not once during my overnight stay nor have I taken any pain meds since being home.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
