Low grade fever nightly, day time none Should I be concerned of a leak?

12/19 sleeve. Previous Lap Band removed about 6 months ago kept slipping and wonderful United would not pay for conversion, needed to gain back lbs. This left more scar tissue than most others would have requiring more staples. Had issues urinating so they had to straight cath me 3x. Finally dribbled and urinating ok now. no BM yet. Getting in liquids but protein a challenge. I'm so fearful of a leak but so pain, no bloating etc.. so these signs are not present. I'm thinking may be due to the catheterizations. Any suggestions? Running 98.6 to 99.8. Feeling fine for what can be expected. Paranoid or let the process take it's course?

Any temp from 97.7 to 99.0 is considered normal.

When your temp is 99.8 ask yourself what you've been doing? Sleeping under heavy blankets? After exercise? After a shower? After being near heat in the kitchen? All of these can cause a slight tick up for a little while.

Multiple catheterizations can be associated with urinary tract infections. You could have someone take a urine sample to your doctor's office to be checked and if necessary, get started on an antibiotic.

If you find you can't make your fluid and protien goals within a few days, get seen just to be safe.

Best wishes.

Thanks. I'll keep close watch. I'm back to Drs on Wed hopefully no issues until then.

I had a leak and had a temp over 100, left side pain going up to my shoulder and difficulty breathing. I think you would probably know if it was a leak, but always check with your doctor if you are in doubt.
