Anyone live in the Puget Sound in WA?

Recommended Posts

I’m so excited to be having my surgery on November 15. That’s only nine days away! I’m terrified of the actual surgery and also scared I️ won’t succeed. It’s crazy.

This forum has been such a blessing for me, as I’ve met new people and have read many, many stories. I would love to also make a friend who lives close by!

Do any of you live in the Seattle Washington area?

So excited for you! Are you going thru the program in Seattle at Swedish? I'm from Puget Sound area, but now living just a few hours South in Oregon. Quite a few of my friends are more local to you & have had their WLS up there.

Your fears are normal. The next few days are going to fly by as you get ready.

You will succeed! Follow the recommendations of your surgeon and the plans from your NUT. Your new tool will make all the difference in the world. I was worried about the same.

Try to avoid comparing yourself to others postop when people around your surgery date start posting pounds lost. Everyone is different! Slow is NOT bad [emoji4]. One woman had spectacular rapid WL compared to mine & we had same DOS. I was worried my surgeon was going to rip me a new one at my 3 mos follow up. He pulled out a graph & colored in where I was. Turns out I really was doing well for me.

Even if someone is same height/surgery weight, keep in mind that there are different metabolisms, muscle mass, bone mass, food plans, etc. like I said, my weight loss is slow number wise. I workout weight training 2 days a week to build muscle & then cardio 3 or 4 days. Muscle weighs more. Didn't dawn on me when I was at the store today... how can I be 201 lbs and gone down to a size Large??? So excited! Look for the non-scale victories.

Most of all, enjoy your new life and the new healthier body!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
