That should be loads of fun! Multi-day trip?

I want to enjoy the outdoors again. I want to go kayaking and camping. I want to be able to fit into a regular bathtub. I want to ride a roller coaster again and fit, fly in an airplane without asking for a seat belt extender. I want to own shoes with shoelaces.

Run! Play with my kids till ‘they’ drop, no me. And be able to walk , love walking a lot and not look like I’ve run a marathon.
And sleep without snoring lol

I want to look better naked.. lol

Also, I want to get back to running regularly like I did before I gained the 60lbs I had lost on weight watchers, plus 20 for reinforcement..... I had gotten up to doing half marathons. I want to do those again as well as one day tackle the full marathon.

I want to have a bath in a normal bathtub, ride horses again, learn to climb those rock walls, go shopping for normal clothes, not be looked at, fit easily in economy on flights, not be the big girl in the group.

Love these! I forgot an important one. I want to be able to get back up without calling the jaws of life or the fire department if I fall! No joke! :(

I want to get a bike. I've wanted a bike for years but I'm past the weight to just be able to purchase one at Target or Walmart. I'd also like to fit in my normal bathtub and use bath bombs to relax.

Mine is a bit full of vanity I live in a "ritzy" area and all the shops only go up to a size 10 max I would love to be able to go shopping with my friends and not feel like a bystander and I suppose vice versa when I drag them to torrid :)

The actual number on the scale isn't my primary goal or motivation. I have been diabetic in one form or another (gestational diabetes that led to type 2) for more than 7 years. There are realities that accompany T2 that I'm not wanting to face, at least not in my 50s. I have two young kids and I want to be around, with all my limbs intact, when they graduate, get married, etc. Getting smaller is an added bonus, but I want to feel like I'm in control of my body and not need a gazillion meds to make that happen.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
