New from NC

Hello Everyone! My name is Jenn. I am 28, married, no kids. I have 3 chihuahuas that are my babies. I am not banded as of yet. I have been obese for many, many years. I was always large, even as a child. I have been disabled now for a couple years due to my weight. It's been just awful. I have researched weight loss surgery for years and have discussed it through with my Doctor.

Orginally I had planned and was sure I was going to go for the gastric bypass. This has recently changed. My Doctor has mentioned that I may want to go with the Lap Band. He says he prefers me to lose weight a little slower than I might would with the bypass. And he mentioned that I could do Lap Band first and see how it works before I decide for certain on the more dangerous and complicated bypass. I think I now agree and feel I should give the band a chance.

I will be contacting my local center in the next day or so about getting the process started. I am so happy to be here and read about everyone's experiences with being banded. Good luck and happy days to you all! :)
