Help its GAS

So pre surgery and until yesterday (5 days post) I have been using muscle good labs Isolate mixed with cashew milk its great protein but its a mix and a bit flat on the flavor. My Doctors gives suggested recipes for shakes but all they use is Premier from cost co so I say what the heck I am in need of a switch a roo and hubby picks up a case of every flavor ( he really is the best) So yesterday I make the recipe as written and they say to blend it which causes all kinds of foam and I drank it any way I know I know dumb idea really bad gas felt awful ended up missing all my numbers yesterday. I wake up feeling great this morning and I grab another premier this time straight from the bottle and bam by 2pm I sick with gas so my hypothesis is that nothing else has changed it must be the premier has anyone else had this issue please what did you do and how did you lessen the gas I have taken a gas x and I am working on peppermint tea now but this is going to throw my day off again :(

After my gastric bypass surgery, I became lactose intolerant. This condition lasted for a couple months and then disappeared. Some protein shakes contain lactose. According to the internet Premier "Contains Milk" in the form of Milk Protein Concentrate. This may be what is causing your stomach to become upset.

What ever it is the devil himself created it is awful and it is throwing all of my numbers off for water and protein gas x doesn't seem to help much and walking is doing a darn thing sigh reminder to self lets wait till we are feeling better before we go off and try new things

It sounds very likely that its a lactose intolerance issue.

Your first protein shake was isolate (which by definition is lactose free). Now you switched to a protein with concentrate.

Gas X will do nothing for lactose intolerance symptoms.

Best avoiding lactose intolerance for a while, then seeing if you can ever tolerate it again once youre feeling better
