Insurance out of pocket expenses

Before I started this whole process I had met my out of pocket expense. My insurance start over in september. Do anyone know if you have to pay your out of pocket expense before surgery are it's billed or is there a payment plan? Anyone in this similar situation how did your doctor office handle it.

My facility says I have to pay my out of pocket max and other fees prior to surgery.

Okay I just called my Hospital finance department and they said that I am covered 100% because I met my family deductible. They said that I have not met my individual deductible as yet. So I am good to go just still waiting on approval from insurance.

Even though they may collect your deductible or out of pocket PROR to surgery, your insurance won't apply it until they receive a medical claim from them. The insurance will apply your deductible/copay/coinsurance as of the date of the surgery, regardless of it you paid in advance. So, I'd your plan period resets prior to your surgery date, yes, you will have to pay the deductible and out of pocket for the new plan year that was effective during your surgery date.
