Yes, just did (9/13) and am bummed i waited so long to do it! The band was causing me issues, obviously since i decided to convert, but little did I or my surgeon know exactly all the damage it was doing to my body...until they were in there doing the conversion. Its unbelievable how these bands have just wrecked havoc in so many people. No question, i would do it again in a heartbeat! Make sure u trust ur surgeon 1000% tho because, like for mine, they may end up performing several fixes within ur body during the band-to-xyz convert. Dont be nervous. Just get that darn band out of u!

One of the individuals in my bariatric surgery support group went from a band to bypass. He had the band for several years but it began to wear into his stomach and had to be removed because it was about to result in a rupture, a life threatening condition. When they did the bypass, there was a lot of scar tissue and as a result they made his pouch a little smaller than most. Therefore the volume of food he could consume in one meal was smaller than most bypass patients. But he just switched to more meals per day and was happy with this. He said he would do it over again in a heartbeat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
