Can't relate to bypass, I had SVG and also noticed when I eat a bit more.. it takes about 1 day to digest..

maybe eat what was recommended for better digestion, also try exercising to help with digestion.

Why are you already trying to eat more ? I think you need counselling these surgery are not miracle workers. You need to follow the plan.

I don’t dump after gastric bypass, which is more typical than those that experience dumping. But you shouldn’t expect or rely on dumping to help curb eating bad things.

And if you’re eating too much you should weigh your food very closely and don’t chase trying to feel full. Food should be about nutrition and health, not entertainment or a hobby or replacement for your feelings. Are you working with a therapist to navigate changing patterns and behaviors to facilitate weight loss?

Good luck!

Let's try this. What are you eating? If you are eating lean Protein and veggies, then the amount really shouldn't matter.

I haven't thrown up, dumped, or found a food I couldn't eat at almost 4 years out. This surgery isn't supposed to be a diversion from food, but a reset for food and your life. Eat nutritious, non processed food 90% of the time, drink lots of Water, and move more, and you'll do just fine. If you are really concerned about how much you can eat, weigh and measure your food so you won't overeat.

The tool itself is really only temporary in the grand scheme of things. Over time it becomes less effective, then it's all on us. Practice good eating habits now and take advantage of the honeymoon period while you can.

The only thing that has ever caused me to "dump" was sugar in the form of candy, cakes, ice cream and crap. Things I rarely ate even before surgery. What is your definition of "dumping"?? Could it be youre not getting the "stuck/pain" feeling after consuming a larger amount, say a pork chop or steak?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
