How long is hospital stay normally for gastric bypass..? My surgery is Monday at 7:30 a.m 9-18-17. Just curious.

I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I was ready to go home after the first night but since it was a weekend and the hospital was staffed with the weekend doctors, I had to wait until Monday before I could be releases.

After surgery remember to Walk, Walk, Walk. It will help to minimize the pain and get you out of the hospital sooner.

I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am on a Tuesday for an 8 am procedure. I went home Wednesday at about 1 pm.

Was told 2 days, but was sent home after 1 since I was up moving around, having no problems and could keep fluids down. It surprised me, but I was fine!
