GOOD luck everyone! I have been so so on my pre-op diet, some days great, others not good. Now that it’s a few days away, all liquid from here on out. Excited and a bit nervous as well:)

I’m having surgery on 10/17 as well! I’ve been super excited in the last few months but since it’s the final countdown I’ve been a bit anxious. [emoji28]

I was scheduled for the 18th of October. Today they called today to ask if I wanted to change it to the 17th. I said YES.
Now the anxiety is kicking in. I know it is the right thing for me to do but I hate the thought of having to be cut. I have always been squeamish about that kind of thing.
What are your fears ?

Yep it's right around the corner. I try not to think about the actual surgery. I try to remember that I'll be out while they are doing it. My Dr acts like almost no one is in pain because he uses this new Med on the actual surgical sites that are like novocaine and last 2 days. We will see!

Hey Oct 17th er's - - our final weekend is here!! 3 more days  :o :51_scream: I don't know about you, but it's been a long 6 month process of Drs and numerous visits and tests and jumping through hoops and over hurdles to get to this point. All while suffering from Fibro, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, on and on and on. Hello! I'm having surgery because I don't have the energy to do all the acrobatics that have been required of me - lol! The last 3 days of this incedious liquid pre-surgery diet. Then I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and know, yep KNOW that it has all been worth it! If hubs eats 1 more good meal in front of me, I might scream - - :47_tired_face:. Calgon take me away!

Mine was planned for the 17th, been a long process to get here. I live in Sonoma County in California and evacuated from the wildfires. Got notice this morning that it’s canceled and they’ll contact me when ready to reschedule. Of course that’s fine for the obvious reasons but also I can’t go home yet so no place to recover at this point. Life all around sucks right now. Hopefully I’ll have a new date soon!!

Good luck with all your upcoming life changing surgeries- I’ll be following you [emoji173]️[emoji174][emoji173]️

MissT_SR I am so very sorry for your loss and your changes. I have friends out your way that have now been misplaced due to the fires and it is a heartbreaking life change. I know right now it doesn't look or feel like there is an end in sight, but there will be. And, you will find a place ........a new area to "call yours".

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
