December Sleevers??

Recommended Posts

I'm December 27th. My husband has off that week, so I will be flying from Philadelphia to San Diego on my clear Fluid diet, on Christmas Day  - dreading that part, lol, but it was my choice.
Definitely though, just talk with them and go with your gut - while you still have one ~ haha! Let me know how it goes, & good luck! Maybe we'll end up down there at the same time [emoji4]

Congratulations same day as me I’m excited and nervous [emoji45]

Hey everyone, just got my date! Looks like December 20th...going to be a different Christmas this year. My wife's sleeve went well last week. She had to stay an extra day in the hospital, but she is almost back to normal at 6 days out. This is my first surgery so I'm very nervous...but I think I'll make it.

I'm having mine on Tuesday, Dec 5th too. I'm on my 2 week liquid diet now and it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Started it last Tuesday, Nov 21st. Already lost some weight, feeling really good about it. You just hang in there, you will do great...:)

That's awesome!! I will follow you if that's ok. I've been trying to get on a liquid diet lately. Last week before Thanksgiving was great but the holiday messed me up. My doctor didn't require it, only a two day liquid diet before surgery. But I know the more I can do it before surgery the better for the liver to not be as swollen. I'm so ready for this!

I had already been given a surgery data of 12/27 but they called and confirmed that my insurance approved everything. I go to my appointment on the 11th to start my liquid diet, then the 22nd for my pre-op and then the 27th is THE DAY! I am so excited. Less than a month to go.

I have seen how my mother has done with the bypass and I have seen the lifestyle change first hand. I am just glad that it is my turn now!

My doctor also told me to take 2 Flintstones per day. I've thought of buying the chewable Calcium and Vitamin C. I'm low on Vitamin D and ran out but I have the liquid eye dropper D3. No Iron for me until they test me a few weeks post surgery.

Well I survived my first day on the liquid diet. 4 Protein Shakes, 1 Jello cup, a Popsicle and what feels like 5 gallons of Water. I did have 2 cups of coffee. Just a few times yesterday I felt mild hungry but seriously not bad. I hope today is as good or better. Only 1 cup of Decaf coffee today.

I'm on day two - herbal tea and chicken broth are keeping me on track. It hasn't been too bad, but I live in an apartment building, and when I was coming up the stairs my neighbor was cooking something that smelled DELICIOUS. That made me feel really hungry, but I had a cup of chicken broth and it went away.

Wow! So we'll be at the same healing stages and everything. That makes us sleeve buddies lol. Good luck on your journey!

Yes that does make us sleeve buddies so we will be able to experience the same things at the same time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
